Two blocks northwest of Union Square, this SF studio is surrounded by popular restaurants and bars. It's also close to public transportation--trolleys, buses, Muni and Bart. Double-size futon accommodates 1-2 comfortably. Full size kitchen and fridge
Gas stove, full-size oven and refrigerator, plenty of plates and glasses (especially wine glasses!), basic pots and pans
The apartment has hardwood floors, full kitchen with a gas stove, a clawfoot bathtub, and plenty of light--but what makes it special is the location. The building is in downtown San Francisco between Union Square and Nob Hill, within walking distance of Chinatown, North Beach (Little Italy), Pac Heights, SoMa, and the Financial District. The famous Bohemian Club is across the street and SF hot spots like Ryoko's and Sugar Cafe are right next door. You can have a great weekend shopping at Union Square and sipping drinks at Top of the Mark or take an easy walk around Grace Cathedral or up to Fort Mason.
Walk score: 98
Transit score: 100
I'm also open to renting out the entire apartment. Send me a message if you prefer not to share.
Guests have access to everything in the apartment. I recently upgraded the wifi internet connection so it is extra fast. I have basic cable, HBO, and Roku with Netflix and Amazon Instant all on a 32" HDTV for when you want to relax. There is also a laundry room with coin-op washers and dryers
Interaction with Guests
I typically work late during the week so you'll mostly have the place to yourself Monday to Friday. On the weekends, I'm happy to make recommendations on restaurants and social events. I've traveled through South America and Asia so I enjoy meeting fellow travelers, especially. You're welcome to join me in whatever I'm up to--concerts, chilling in Dolores Park, whatever. I don't spend much time in my apartment on the weekends so you're also welcome to have the space to yourself.
Downtown is where it happens in San Francisco. I can point you to all the coolest bars and restaurants in the city, whether you're on a budget or treating yourself
Trolleys, buses, light rail, and the subway are all within a few blocks. Getting around couldn't be easier
Alex made me feel welcome right away, with my own section of his livingroom (his room is divided from the livingroom by a privacy screen). It was cozy, and it was odd sharing a room with a stranger, but overall I had a wonderful time. You can't do better if what you need is a safe, comfortable room with access to a kitchen.
Alex was very aware of my state of mind (exhausted from jet lag and convention activities), and he put up with bedtimes that would be quite late on the East Coast, but were rather early for anyone on the West Coast. He never complained, and he amused himself quietly whenever he found I was sleeping.
He's a great guy, and it's a great spot. If you don't mind a roommate -- a very nice, exceptionally clean, very accommodating roommate -- then this is the place for you.
Nice place in a great location. Alex is a great guy and very easy to share a space with!
Alex was very helpful, he accepted my last minute request and was so convenient about the check-in and check-out times ! Thanks a lot !
Just got back from my trip in SF, and that was just awesome, a good part thank to Alex !
Alex is the perfect host, always available for a tip about where to go, where not to, and very carefull about your experience and well being ! Even if he's not at home, just a phone call and he'll be happy to answer any question that may arise ( I did not need but knew that there'll be no trouble phoning him ) ! My only regret is that I did not had time to cook diner at his place ( sorry pal, next time !! ).
His place is ideally situated, 5minutes on foot from union square and powell station, so public transportation is easy to catch and you're directly in the center !
I'll definitively will get back there !!
Thanks again Alex for this wonderful week in your loft !
