My house is on a quiet tree lined street only 1 block from the subway. Your room comfortably sleeps 3. I'll supply you with fresh towels and sheets. Your bathroom is large and you can take a relaxing bath as well as a shower.
Your bedroom is 12X12 or 144 sq. feet. It has 2 windows with shutters that look over my backyard. You have a full and twin bed. You get plenty of daylight and can see the sunset from your room. You have plenty of drawer space. You have a closet to hang things up and stow your bags in.I refinished the hardwood floors 2 years ago.
You'll be able to use the living room, my kitchen and grill and backyard during the warmer weather.
Interaction with Guests
I'm home pretty often so we should bump into each other a lot. I'll try and answer all your questions and help you any way I can.
My neighborhood is pretty quiet. I'm a 10 minute walk from beautiful Sunset park. From there you can see the whole harbor, statue of Liberty, Manhattan and New Jersey. There's a Bowling Alley at the top of my block where you can have fun bowling and drinking an adult beverage or two. We have pizza, dinners, Chinese and Spanish restaurants all within a few blocks. If you get hungry late at night, there's always some place open to eat.
I live 1 block from the express trains. The N,D and local R train will get you around. It's 2 stops to Manhattan. Up my block on 5th Ave is the B 63 bus that goes from the Verrazano Bridge at the Narrows to Downtown Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Bridge.
Other Things to Note
This is the house I grew up in. I've lived here since 1960. She was built in 1903. I've seen how my home and neighborhood have changed over that time. I'm inviting you to share some time in my home. I'm easygoing and you'll laugh with me.
Please don't have party's here and No Smoking inside the house.
Skippy is such a considerate and warm-hearted person. He has provided much more than we could expect. His house is warm and cozy, which is very near to the subway station. It is quite convenient to reach anywhere in NY. Hope have another chance to stay there.
Skippy is really awesome, great, caring and the best host ever. I stayed with my mom n sister there. We feel so welcome since day 1 we met skippy. Help us with our luggage. Then help us get the metro card. And even he help us by buying our left metro card that have 4 days left. He is really helpful for everything while we stay. He lend us his glove , hat, scraf, guide book just to make sure we stay warm , healthy and happy. The bed room is great. Large n comfort bed. Clean room. Nice heater in room while its really freezing outside. Bathroom is good too with hot water. We got towel as complimentary. And location is perfect.. Its really close to subway that make our life so much easier in NY. Just 5 mins walk from house to subway. And really easy to get to manhattan such time square, statue of liberty or whatever u name it.What a perfect location. And one more good things is the cuty cleopatra cats that really nice and make u feel more at home.. So overall, we really enjoy to stay there. And absolutely we ll stay there if we come back to NY. Give score AAA for overall for skippy place.Thank you too much skippy for all your help and care. Please come to indonesia and see ya..
It was hard to tell who was friendlier: Skip, or his two well-looked after cats. This is as much a testament to Skip's kindness as it is to his two cats. What you see is exactly what you get. No surprises here. Bathroom was extremely clean, and under-the-sea themed. Would stay again! Thanks Skip!
The location is great, 5 min walk to the subway. Parking is free if you drive and very quiet.
The owner, Skippy is so welcoming and friendly.
We really enjoyed staying with him...and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.
Skip was a good host and provided information about mass transit and neighborhood restaurants. The place is only two express stops on the subway from Manhattan and is only a block from the subway station.
Skip is a very nice host, the best I can image for my first airbnb experience. He is not only the host of his house but also a host for the NYC to me. His house is great, and I feel so warm when meeting his cats and every decoration in his house. You can know exactly everything about the house from the description. Great time stay with Skip.
Skip was an excellent host - he was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating (helping me look up rates for a car service to the airport and calling a cab at 5.30 in the morning, and even when we changed from a group of 2 to a group of 3 at the last minute). The room itself is warm (fear not the New York winter!) and the beds comfortable (the pillows in particular are incredibly soft and bouncy). The location was also pretty great (just one street away from the 36th street station, which has both local and express trains into Manhattan).
All in all, I really enjoyed my stay (which was also because I really enjoyed the company of Skip's cats and the couple of times I said hi to the dog, who are all really friendly and adorable fluffy creatures)!
I'm an easy going, fun loving guy who likes to laugh. I've lived in Brooklyn all my life. This is the home I grew up in. Whether it's helping a friend move cross country, taking a dip in the ocean on New Years Day, going skydiving or eating a hot dog, I like to try fun things.
