About this listing
welcome to la finca caribe! our cozy, off-beat, one-room casita.
nestled in the garden, the cozy one-room casita has a queen bed, its own kitchenette, private bath with shower and covered deck.
our towels don't match. the rooms have no television. la finca is for people who like to go barefoot and take showers outdoors. we like it simple. all of our rooms have fans, mosquito nets, cotton sheets and a good reading lamp.
la finca caribe is a cluster of handmade wooden houses -- on two of the most beautiful, natural, quiet and private acres on vieques island. we're up in the hills; our world class beaches are three miles away -- so we are the place to totally get away from it all. no ac. no phones. wifi is iffy. but the salt water pool, the breezes, views and mangoes, starfruit, cocos and bananas work great. the coolest place on the coolest island -- with the coolest folks!

we adored la finca- we were so sad to leave. corky and bill are thoughtful, kind and generous hosts. our first two nights were spent in the cabinita, it was perfect and lovely, but a little noisy because of the children staying next door (i believe the age minimum has been raised since.) corky offered to shuffle cabins and put us in the quieter, larger family cabin for the same price. we would've been happy either way, but we loved seeing la finca from a new perspective, and hearing the rain on the tin roof. we ate starfruit and bananas from the trees for breakfast, spent all day at the beach then came home and cooked in our little kitchen and drank rum under the stars on our porch. we were delighted to find that la finca had all the things we needed- a wine key, a cooler, a machete for coconuts, mint, beach towels. nothing is new or fancy, but if you need only simple beauty then la finca is for you.
La Finca is an absolutely gorgeous spot in Vieques, and we could have easily stayed there another week! The main house is gorgeous and relaxing. We stayed in La Casita, a little cabin between the main house and the restrooms, and it was so charming and wonderful. La Finca in general was admirably eco-conscious, from recycling and friendly notes about conserving resources, to solar panels. Everything everywhere was tidy, handmade, and lovingly assembled. Pam and Graham were amazing hosts, and great people. Whenever we ran into them, they were tending their multiple gardens throughout the grounds (try their home-grown bananas!). Our first night, they gave us a ride to and from Isabel Segunda, and pointed out places to eat and things to see. I cannot recommend it enough. We're definitely trying to find time to go back for a longer stay.
We absolutely loved staying here and have already started scheming to return to Vieques and beautiful La Finca. We enjoyed our stay in Casita, cooking in the big kitchen, swimming in the salt water pool, and soaking up the views & chirping nature all around. A dream!
We had a lovely time at La Finca. It. Was so fun and everyone there was very kind and accommodating. One thing -- it is nice to have a car, or any mode of transportation, as you will need it to get around if you plan to explore the island.
This little cabin in gorgeous hills of Vieques was a perfect spot to stay. Just a few minutes drive into Esperanza! The casita has a great kitchen area and porch table to eat on. We cooked breakfast every morning, eating fresh fruit from the trees on the finca. And we drank rum on the porch every night, gazing at the stars through magnificently dark skies. Wonderful property with great energy.
I'd highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants to feel the true, rural Vieques--this ain't the W Hotel, and hopefully you'll enjoy your stay as much as we did.

About the Host, Corky & Bill
bill and i bailed from the full time work a day world to focus on little hill, the finca in the winter months, our family and friends, and new grandkids. we have had la finca caribe on vieques for 17years now, and little hill for four. we love both homesteading -- raising our own food (organic lamb and veggies on marrowstone) living simply, and sharing both places with others.
Bill is/was an architect in Seattle, and before that NYC .I've worked most of my life in corporate sustainability and as a creative director in seattle, weird combo I know. But I always wanted to be an innkeeper and a farmer...so now I'm a little of each, and very very grateful...
