Modern, bright, granny flat in the heart of east Austin. Walking distance to Franklin BBQ, Qui Restaurant, dozens of bars and restaurants in and around east 6th St., the Capitol, downtown and UT sports.
Washer/dryer, wifi and off street parking.

The space

The space, recently built is naturally light, airy and open. It has a kingsize bed, 400 thread count sheets and lots of pillows. The sectional sofa was custom built to fit the space and the smart television can be watched comfortably from both it or the bed as it is mounted to the wall and swivels.
The bathroom and shower are truly special. The enormous shower is tiled in the most serene green glass and the rain shower head is delicious.
Location is what really makes the flat great. It is within walking distance to many of Austin's great bars and restaurants as well as the Capitol and UT sports venues.

Guests have access to wifi, washer/dryer, small kitchen with fridge, sink, French press coffee and toaster oven.
Off street parking is also available.

Great location, close to the I35 so easy, convenient drive to anywhere we wanted to go. The AC was much appreciated. The bed was huge, and comfy. The bathroom had the biggest shower I've ever seen. Unfortunately the bathroom had a bunch of mosquitos flying around (maybe came in each time we opened the door in the eve?), and the wifi didn't work, but this wasn't a big issue due to not spending much time inside. I did manage to lock us out once, but the host Casey was really kind and there to let us in right away. The flat is separated into bedroom/living section and kitchen/laundry section. There was a big fridge so you could store your own food if you wanted. Overall good stay and would recommend.

Everything was just as expected. We couldn't have asked for a better location. We were so close to everything we wanted to do and see. The entrance to the place was slightly confusing when we first arrived. The place is in what seems to be a finished garage or some sort of add on to the main house and it is not quite visible from the street so we weren't sure which was our door when we first arrived. This really wasn't a big deal mind you. Just an FYI.

This is a fantastic spot on the East Side. We are preparing to move to East Austin and it gave us a very good idea of what life will be like. The flat was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay!

THE BAD: The bed This bed is ridiculous. I have never in all my life slept in a bed that creaks and groans so severely with every slight movement. My bf and I were constantly waking each other up all night long just by rolling over or changing position. The bed is old and rickety and just needs to be replaced. Period. The floor: Is cement. Like you would find in a garage. The photos are misleading, its a rough, uneven cement floor. It makes your feet feel rather dirty The towels, pillows, linens: Firstly the bed linens have holes in them... what??? Why??? The towels seemed ok at first until i was drying off after a shower and felt a rough scratchy patch. Small hard pellets? Bugs? Were stuck to the towel. I still don't know what they were just that they were gross. The wifi: I couldn't get a signal. It was very weak. The cable/tv: Again, unwatchable... due to bad signal. THE GOOD: Shower: It's nice. Maybe the only thing in the place that was reasonable renovated. But it has a large drain and in the night silverfish came out of it... so... OVERALL It's fine... but there are a lot of little details that could be greatly improved with some much needed TLC. I wouldn't stay here again otherwise.
