Where you’ll be

Mt Irvine, Western Tobago, Trinidad & Tobago

These are notes from Gregory, Our son.

Storebay- this is the local spot with handicraft and food vendors etc and a really nice beach.
Also Pigeon Point nearby (it's more private and still- beautiful beach)- u can catch a glass bottom boat to the Buccoo reef from here or Storebay. I haven't been in a while but it's a cool thing to do- takes a couple hrs. Snorkeling and swimming in this clear sand area out at sea.
Englishman's bay (kind of far but worth the drive). Very picturesque- U gotta check it out.
I love the Mount Irvine beach in front of the house and the other beaches in Mount Irvine nearby too. Another nice beach is Grafton nearby.

To do:
1. Take a surfing lesson out front. My friend George is a cool cat- Rasta guy, down on the beach below. taught me to surf.
2. Take a catamaran cruise one day up the coast- Island Girl i think is the boat- or any other. catch the boat from down on the beach below- ask around.
3. rainforest tours, bird watching- ask Maria for his number. His name is Hans.
4. diving- the best place is Speyside- in the North of island- it's world class actually. About an hour drive- beautiful drive. Dive with Tobago Dive experience (Sean Robinson- he's the real deal and very professional). Have ur girl go on the boat and snorkel and u dive. Do the drift dive around the Island- great reef and cliff into deep water. Biggest Brain Coral in the world in up there. I strongly recommend u go there- it's so quaint and the real Tobago. Eat lunch at the famous Jemmas Treehouse restaurant- delicious food. Love the shrimp curry. Go even if u don't dive. Charlotteville is a fishing village next to Speyside. Good restaurant there also- forget the name.
5. Deep sea fishing- it's seasonal so I'm not sure if this is best time. Gerard “Frothy” Dr Silva.
5. Louise Kimme- world class sculptor from germany who lived there about 5 min away from house. She sculpted local black people life-size- incredible work and she's a trip as is her castle like house. Usually opens on a Sunday am but swing by if ur not there on a Sunday and tell her ur interested in buying one- that I told u to go.
6. Fort King George ( I think it's called- a fort above Scarborough the capital). Great view.
7. Night life- best was "Shade" last time I was there. Some pretty Rootsy places in Pleasant Prospect (where the Fish Pot restaurant is). If ur there on Sunday, then the whole country goes to Sunday School- it's a big party at a school. Other small bars around the place- Tobago can be a sleepy town though- that's part of the charm. . .

This should keep u busy, or u could just chill and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. have some wine out front on the patio and watch the Sunset. A week there is like 2 anywhere else. . .
oh and btw please write comments in the Guestbook.

Hello and welcome to our Cliff Cottage Villa. We are a retired couple and we live in Trinidad full time but bought this beautiful home 20 years ago because of the beautiful panoramic views of the ocean. We don't visit as often as we'd like to so we want to be able to share it with you on airbnb.
Richard is a retired airline pilot and businessman, previously based in NYC but we always lived in Trinidad because it's so beautiful. I'm currently a choral director and in the past an opera singer that was classically trained. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren that live in the USA and in Trinidad.
We provide a clean, comfortable home for your visit. We welcome you anytime.
