A kitchen and a bathroom of a minimalist modern design complete the layout of the apartment

Guest Access

Our guests have access to a large terrace with a panoramic view, that is the perfect location for sunbathing or just relaxing sitting outside reading quietly, and ideal for a summer evening dinner party... cool and fresh.
A beautiful panoramic swimming pool is set in the luxuriant garden. Sun beds are provided as well as garden furniture.
A large rustic room used to make wine has been restored and converted into a common lounge.
An elegant room opening onto the patio is devoted to relax and equipped with a big Jacuzzi hot tub
Below the restored castle structure lies a terraced Garden, which once provided fresh fare for noble lord's table. The garden has been transformed full of botanical plants both aromatic and medicinal, and also is utilized for courses in all phases of herbal lore and preparations, or just to sit and enjoy - in a perfect natural setting - conversing, reading, or being quiet!

Interaction with Guests

Gloria will be there to receive and assist you with advice regarding the exploration of the territory and its many historical and artistic points of interest. She will also supply a list of tipycal, not-touristy restaurants, wineries and oil mills, and can organize, on request, guided eno-gastronomicals tours as well as guided visits to archaelogical or artistic sites.

The Neighborhood

Perched on top of hill, nearest to the town's center, with a spectacular scenic view of the best preserved part of the city, Torre Bertona is one of Todi's several castles. Torre Bertona is an ideal spot for a perfect long or short term holiday-vacation in the heart of Umbria, still with all the amenities, close by that the town has to offer and very close to the freeway!
Todi, a well known historical hill town, is two miles away from the house; this charming town boasts a rich cultural life and is exciting to explore, and is considered one of the best cities in the world for the quality of life; its location in Italy is excellent to visit the principal beauties of central Italy, and its landscape and culture are not touristy but genuinely Italian. Assisi, with the extraordinary Giotto's frescoes, Orvieto with its imposing Duomo and mysterious underground city and the lively Perugia are at easy reach. The territory surrounding Todi is rich of historical hill towns, but also of remains of the Etruscan and Roman civilization, of famous wineries and oil mills, of easy and beautiful walking trails.

Getting Around

In general, the countryside around Todi is completely full of castles and every little village has something to attract you, so maybe the best advice that can be given is just to wander around as much as you can (Cecanibbi, Montemolino, Ilci, etc…).
Perugia (Umbria's main city), Assisi and Orvieto are all reachable in 30 minutes; Rome and Florence are at 1 hour and 1/2 drive.
Don't miss to visit Assisi, Orvieto and Perugia, with the splendid Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria, all reachable in about 30 minutes; but worth a visit is also the Todi museum and the roman cistern below the square, besides a gorgeous fresco in a nunnery called "Purgatorio di San Patrizio". Also Bevagna and Foligno are worth seeing!
Rome and Florence are at 1 hour and 1/2 drive,
