Neighborhood highlights

Centrally located less than a half-mile from the Nickel bridge. A quick walk to our neighborhood favorite restaurant the Little Nickel (top rated Polynesian midcentury tiki bar). Outpost bike shop and grocery market is a great place to pick up refreshments, snacks, and all your gear. Blanchard's coffee shop, Stella's market (pick up hot sandwiches, gyros and salads or to-go items), The Veil Brewery and Y Tu Mama (taco and burrito spot). You can head down Forest Hill Ave. a couple miles to Galley the restaurant (galley-style cafe with booths and huge portions) or Galley to-go which has even the most diehard pizza fans raving.

In the other direction, past the park on Forest Hill, you can grab a beer or coffee at Crossroads. WPA bakery (most requested breakfast sandwiches) and Laura Lee's (top-rated chefs/bartenders) are located at the shops at Semmes and Forest Hill Avenue.

Just over the Nickel bridge is Maymont and Carytown or Arthur Ashe Boulevard. You can take the Boulevard to head to Scott's Addition or head East to the historic Fan neighborhood, Art's district, and more. Every neighborhood in Richmond is rich in history and charm. We can recommend so many restaurants depending on what you are in the mood for. So many great restaurants crushing the takeout game in Richmond. We allow takeout cocktails and so much more. You are sure to find something great!

If you're ready to get outside you're in the right spot. Head to Forest Hill Park for a walk around the lake or through the woods. Connect to the James River Park by heading down Hillcrest. Once you are in the park you can check the maps. You're a quick walk to the Belle Isle pedestrian bridge or the Potterfield bridge (take either one) and Brown’s Island or Belle Isle. Visitors of the park can enjoy kayaking and canoeing, biking, fishing, rock climbing, rapids, scenic views, walking trails, wildlife, historic sites, and much more.

If you are into mountain biking our trails are some of the best in the area ranging in difficulty. Be sure to wear the right gear and check the trail report! You can take a gravel road to connect to the Belle Isle pedestrian bridge once you enter the park. Or you can stick to the road and connect right to the Capital trail by way of the Mayo bridge.
