Historic home with typical spacious high-ceilinged rooms, stone walls, pasta tile floors and antique woodwork, the doors open right out onto the square.
Beautifully restored, a reverence for the past is combined with the comfort of modern conveniences

The space
Valladolid is not for typical tourists. Our heritage is culture and if that's your interest, you're in the right place. Sorry, no 24 hour room service, pool-parties or all-inclusive places around here. This casita is part of one of the first constructions around San Bernardino Convent. The history of the place is not clear, but we have been told it's age is around 350 years. We took great care in preserving the spirit of the place and kept all the original materials from the different ages of the house. You will find original stones, flooring from 1900's and furniture from the 20's and 40's. The location is perfect: it's right on a plaza in front of the Convent. This neighborhood is not plagued by mass tourism (of course) and it's very quiet. You will experience life as a local but with all the facilities you might need: A/C, WiFi, super comfortable bed and of course a great hammock made by one of your neighbors. On the casita you'll find instead of a TV or phone, art. We usually exhibit one artist at a time in our walls and the name of this place is in honor of a great Yucatan Peninsula photographer, Don Humberto Suaste. The permanent piece of art in the casita is a huge photogram he made. Until May we have a selection of his silver gelatin prints around the place.

Guest access
You have the full casita for you. There's free parking space just in front for your convenience.

Location

Valladolid, Yucatán, Mexico

The location in Sisal is one of the most sought-after in Valladolid, amidst ancient plazas and churches. The Calzada de los Frailes is one of the oldest and most important streets of Valladolid, the San Bernardino Convent is just steps from the house. In my experience, is the best barrio in Valladolid.
