We really loved our stay and Kelly was great! It's a cute little house & the kids liked the park across the street. Thanks!
This is our second time staying on Winnie St and we will definitely be back. Kelly is gracious and easy to stay in touch with. She provides great recommendations for things to do in the area.
The house is very clean and well-kept. Comfy beds and clean linens. Good water pressure in the shower. Fabulous neighborhood.
Kelly greeted us graciously when we arrived, a family of 5 with a 1 year old toddler! We were given a short tour of the grounds and history of the home and then taken to upstairs to our 'home'. It was lovely, clean, quiet, comfortable, and 'homey'. There was easy access to local cafe's and bakeries as well as the gorgeous historical area of Galveston. We thoroughly enjoyed the fact that this was not the touristy area full of a lot of people, yet a quiet neighborhood where you could take long walks to see beautiful homes history!
Kelly was always available for us if needed yet wasn't intrusive in any way. If we have the privilege of returning to Galveston, we will definitely stay with Kelly on Winnie again, it was a perfect home for our family of 5.
We stayed upstairs in the main house, it was a wonderful home base while visiting Galveston for the weekend. Weather was getting hot and it was great to return mid-afternoon and truly relax in this spacious apartment. Breakfast out on the front porch in the mornings was a great way to start the day. We had the perfect place for our own private happy hour before going out for dinner each evening and we'd certainly recommend you spent the weekend at Kelly's!
The description of the listing on airbnb was spot on. The apartment is very spacious and light with plenty of room to put your (website hidden) and Wifi worked well and other amenities were as described. Kelly met us with the keys, gave us a good intro to the apartment, and then left us to our own devices. There are three good places to eat (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) within an easy walk. The neighborhood is a quiet historic neighborhood near a small park with a small playground. The screened-in porch is a nice place to start your day with a cup of tea watching folks with their dogs in the park. Parking is on the street, but we were never concerned about our car. To get to the apartment, you climb a set of fairly steep stairs. If you like a B&B-type place but with the privacy of a hotel, this is what you're looking for.

About the Host, Kelly
My husband and I have lived on the island for the past twenty years and now have a house in Houston as well. I'm a third generation Houstonian and my man is from Switzerland. We have a beautiful yard, because we are avid gardeners. When I travel I prefer to stay in homes where you learn so much more about the local culture. Traveling can give us great and long-lasting memories. Be our guest and you will have very fond memories of a beautiful historic neighborhood on the island just 45 minutes away from Houston.
