  • Very nice place in great location for getting around easily. Host did a nice job of describing the apt and left good info on restaurants, etc. Very clean space with very comfortable bed. Loved the bathroom. Kitchen had all the basics.

  • Our stay at Allison's LEED nest was open, clean, gorgeous, private, quiet, holding and so easy. We will definitely be back for more.

    Response from Allison:

yeah thanks I did see your note. I think there was just too much in the washer cause I pulled towels out and ran smaller load and it was fine. i'll keep my eye on it. thanks, hope to see you guys again some time.

  • Allison's home was a wonderful place to stay in Victoria. We stayed in the upper unit and it was fully equipped with everything we needed and plenty of space to unpack and relax. I give Allison's bed top rating for comfort - the best airbnb bed we have ever slept in. Thanks, Allison!!

  • Alison's place is fantastic. Located within walking distance to everything, it's spacious, bright, and simply designed. The expansive windows offers a ton of natural light. The bed is firm and comfortable . There are plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The concrete floors are equipped with in-floor heat, making it comfortable, even on a chilly morning. The place is also very quiet. Alison made getting in and out easy and was accessible. She was a great host. If you stay here, just a heads up that the super amazing modern stove top doesn't turn on without a pot on it, which took us some trying to figure out. Overall it was a great experience.

  • Such a great house tucked away on a dead end street. Fully stocked with whatever we might need. Having laundry is awesome.
Allison was very helpful and we would stay again if she would have us (and our 3 kiddos) again.

  • My friend and I shared a perfect Victoria getaway at Allison's lovely modern home. The place is architecturally amazing with a great balance of warm wood and metal finishes throughout and every amenity you might need. The shower/washroom is the highlight of the upper area..just like a light waterfall. Allison has endless tips for food and activities and will gladly fetch Leroy for you if like me, you love cats. Perfect distance to downtown and a market close by. We look forward to another stay in the future!

  • Allison was a friendly and laidback host that was quite easy to get in touch with. We found her upper suite to be bright and airy with all the items we needed to be comfortable with the added convenience of the location. Leroy, her sweet cat, was adorable too! Hope to stay there again during the warmer months so we can take advantage of the outdoor space.

  • Allison's LEED house was the perfect place for me to stay in Victoria. I had a week of appointments -- social and professional -- and her home couldn't be in a better location for getting around town. Inside, it was clean, comfortable and very stylish. I loved the overhead rain shower and heated floors. Best of all was Allison's openness and flexibility. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Had an amazing stay at Allison's beautiful home. Great location and great standard of quality with everything from pots and pans to the furniture. It was really interesting to stay in a LEED certified home, and to see how cozy yet practical they are.

Would definitely stay here again when next in Victoria.

About
I'm a local Victorian, spent my 20s in Montreal and NYC, then came home to Victoria and designed and built this house. Initially obsessed with modern architecture, this passion met with a desire to live more lightly; this house project is my experiment with integrating greenbuilding technologies and practices and overcoming the technical, regulatory, and financial barriers preventing their mainstreaming. From this project, i have done some green building consulting for homeowners, developers and the BC provincial government. I'm currently working for local government as the environmental issues planner for Victoria and am responsible for developing the city's climate action program, both for its own operations and in partnership with the community to reduce energy and greenhouse gases in VIctoria. I love my job. I also love this city, and giving visitors tips so they can enjoy a most local experience. Victoria is rich with natural and manmade bounty, there are outstanding small/local eats and cafes to be found in nearby neighbourhoods. i picked the location of this house to build because it's on a quiet deadend street, while being situated a 5min walk to core of downtown or to the heart of fernwood village. Located on the border of downtown and fernwood, this is an extremely walkable and vibrant urban neighbourhood. come visit...
