Excellent place, very comfortable rooms, the place is far from Malecon and the beach but overall it is a good value.

Response from Heidi:
It was actually the son of Juan Miguel who stayed here, Oscar Josue and he was a cutie and very polite and nice. Barely saw him as he was so busy with friends in town and enjoying his family while here. He would be welcome to return.

The quintessential AirBnB experience. Heidi was an amazing host, and I struggle to find the words. Warm, welcoming and helpful in whatever way might be needed to make sure you have an awesome stay. I fell in love with the place and the people and walked to the beach and town every day twice a day. It connected me more and felt like I lived there, which is the part of the whole draw of AirBnB over the unavoidably isolating standard hotel experience. Betty's breakfast each morning was icing on the cake, as was going to the market with her to get fish and veggies for her to whip up for dinner (special requests). This will go down as one of my absolute favorite stays!

Response from Heidi:
What a polite, gracious, smart and easy going guest. Hope you do return to live here. Enjoyed our chats and learned new things. Thank you for that. Your enthusiasm was contagious. Hope you ace your exam. Enjoy your time up there and come back.

Heidi's Hacienda is perfect for the young backpacker or the older adventurer who values experience and character over luxury and over-the-top comfort. Heidi's home is immaculately clean and comfortable enough, however this isn't the Ritz Carlton. This airbnb is a pretty traditional Puerto Vallarta home in an urban residential area of PV which means it is somewhat open air, tile floors, there's a cute dog named Piper scampering around. Be forewarned there is likely going to be noises and sounds from neighbors blasting salsa or corridos and fixing their car on the street well into 10pm on a typical weekday - but this is part of the charm (something that is less common in the US). And importantly, I view the neighborhood as very safe. The traveler must come with an open heart and mind that way and try to absorb the neighborhood sights and sounds. I highly recommend Heidi as a host. She is a great human being with a huge heart and it was a great pleasure and frankly a little sad to say goodbye even though my stay was short. I hope to stay in touch with Heidi.

Response from Heidi:
Wish I had gotten to spend more time with Andy. Short but sweet. Plus I wanted to hear about working with children and teens up north. What a pity because of family a occurrence he left earlier than expected.. Hope he returns here some day in the future. A polite and well brought up young man. If he wished to stay with you say yes.

What an incredible find! I couldn't have been happier to find such a great place to escape for a quick getaway. Heidi is such a gracious host and I could not have asked for a more perfect spot to balance the distance from the beach crowd and the access to everything Vallarta has to offer. The location is a great value and if you're for more off the beaten path yet so close you can walk, bus or taxi to just about anything you would like to do then Heidi's is the spot for you!

Response from Heidi:
I don't know what to say. I think I am not attracted to guys but this man is just a sweetie. Had no idea how tall he was until I stood next to him the next day. His demeanour is relaxed, aware and his words are measured and thought out. He was so happy and pleased to be relaxing in PV for 2 days that it made me happy. Hope you bring your girlfriend down with you next visit.

Heidi made me feel at home instantly. Her background in hospitality balances perfectly with her laid-back demeanor. Within ten minutes she'd concisely covered amenities, transportation, and attractions. Throughout my stay she remained an eternal source of information, insightful personal stories, and welcoming laughter. The space is spotless, naturally well-lit, open-aired, and has ample seating. Feels like a home because the rooms retain privacy while allowing the guests to interact if they choose (everyone I met was lovely). Betty kindly offers to make coffee and breakfast, both of which are delicious. Overall, the ideal balance of independence/pampering. Thank you so much, Heidi, I'm already dreaming of my next visit!

Response from Heidi:
I loved Rebecca. Her first time out of the US and she came on her own. I love people who just face their fears and go for it. Totally positive and got right into the swing of life here. Made friends on the go and hopefully danced til she dropped in exhaustion back here in her cosy nest with me. Loved your blue hair. Hope this is just the tip of the iceberg and you explore around the world in your lifetime. And come back here of course and visit me with wonderful tales.

Staying with Heidi was great. She made sure I was comfortable and gave me lots of information on what to see and do in the city. We had great conversations about living in Mexico and more. The room was bright and comfortable. I slept very well my 3 nights there and found buses and taxis were an easy way to get to and from the downtown. Heidi is very well organized with everything and the kitchen is very easy to figure out. She generously offered food in the fridge and drinks... A great host! There’s a lot of plants so her house has a very homey feel and she’s very laid back about people coming and going. A short walk brings you to the main route to catch buses. I found the neighborhood to be interesting with the crazy variations one will see in Mexico from one block, street or neighborhood to the next. It is more third world than staying in the touristy parts of the city, but at the same time offers an experience that is more "real". Be sure to find the local outdoor restaurant that specializes in seafood.

Response from Heidi:
Michael showed me some of his photos from here and around Mexico and they were special. And he showed me how he edits them. A fellow traveler I enjoyed hearing about his trips and working on a boat. Very easy to be with and an all round nice guy. I hope the best for him and his life to come. So do it all. Hope you make it back here sometime.

Sometimes it is hard to describe an experience that has multiple layers. Yes, the house is clean and accessible in a true Mexican neighborhood. I read the other reviews and had my ear plugs since the room I had did have curtains for partial walls. My fellow travelers did hear my purring (a sweet female way of saying I snored) so it meant that I did feel safe and relaxed. I tried the hammocks which I found as a perfect place to read as well as watch Netflix on my tablet. One the next level is the ambiance of the home, Heidi has created an interactive experience that includes her housekeeper who prepared wonderful meals, neighboring children, birds and the sweetest little dog. I found Heidi to be honest, helpful, kind and a kindred spirit. I would not hesitate to recommend this listing. Thank you, Heidi. I feel as though I have rekindled an old friendship even though we just met. Viya con dios.

Response from Heidi:
Fabulous having Shari here in my home for a couple of days. Turns out our birthdays as Scorpios are very close together. When Shari showed me pics of a girls motorcycle trip and the bikes they rode I wished one of them had been me. Her Harley was spectacular. Still missing my Yamaha Verago 1000 cc 29 years old that I sold a few years back when I couldn't walk. So began a friendship and communion of like minded women that I hope just continues to grow. I have good people skills and I grew up working in my Dad's resort hotel. So as a child I worked at different jobs there growing up. Now I love having guests in my home. Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas are outstanding when it comes to a winter vacation as the weather is unbelievable and consistently fabulous. I am in my late 60's on the outside and still somewhat of a child within. Left home very young and travelled far and wide for years. Speak english, spanish and french. Love kids and gardening. Never married or had kids. My partner of over 30 years Arturo
has been gone for 6 years now. Life seems to be about changes and realignment and charting fresh exciting courses. Let me know what you dream of doing while in and around Puerto Vallarta and I will do my utmost to help fulfill them. See you here I hope. Chao for now.
