Cozy room, creatively decorated with local artists' work. Clean, comfortably furnished room (firm, full size mattress) and apartment, inside a worn but charming 1920's building with vintage details. We have great light and excellent central heat. Located in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood which is where the Castro, Lower Haight and Mission all converge.
This is a great location to experience the city, be close to all transportation and popular destinations.
Bonus: it's a beautiful neighborhood with old Victorians, tree and foliage lined streets and not too much fog.
You'll be close to Duboce, Buena Vista, and Dolores Parks and a short trip (about 20 minutes) to Golden Gate Park. It's a 10 minute Metro ride downtown. All metro lines, the F trolley and a few bus lines are within a block. BART is a 15 minute walk.
Your host is Marcia, a 20 year resident of San Francisco who can help you plan your visit and make timely suggestions. As an artist she is connected to many of the arts venues in the city and can assist you in finding your own favorites.
This is a room, an apartment, host and neighborhood that you will treasure!

We have only one bathroom. You (and your fellow traveler, if that applies) will be sharing that bathroom with me.
You have access to the kitchen in the mornings.
Access to the living room is at any time, except when I'm sleeping.

I am flexible--sociable but not in your face. If you like to chat, or have questions I will always oblige.
The Duboce Triangle is a lovely, tree-lined neighborhood, centrally located and very convenient. It is a safe neighborhood, sunny and there are a lot of dogs.

The room Is beautiful and spacious. The appartament Is very good located, really close to castro, nice restaurants and to the main lines of transport.Marcia Is very nice and helpful. We were happy to spend our days in sf at her house.
Staying with Marcia was a pleasure. Her property was located in a fantastic part of town - walking distance from several of SF's most happening neighborhoods. From checking in and getting settled into our room to our departure, Marcia was friendly, generous, and made us feel right at home physically and emotionally. If I am ever in town again, I will without a doubt stay at Marcia's!
Nice and cosy room, and Marcia makes you feel at home, always advice us where to go and was really helpful when we had questions :)
The room is located in a very centric and pleasant neighborhood, just 1 min walk from the subway, lots of restaurants arounds. We had a great time!
This was really a wonderful place to stay. Marcia greeted us with fresh flowers and chocolate and was very responsive when travel plans changed last minute. We hardly even ran into her while shuffling in and out of the room, and when we did, she was nothing but sweet and helpful. I shared the room with my friend and it was perfect for us. The bed was comfortable to share, and the place itself was very clean, tidy and comfy. The location is PERFECT. It's right in the center of everything we wanted to do, and ended up walking most of the time because we were that close. Overall I would love to stay here again, and Marcia was the perfect host.
Marcia was a great host and the place was very comfortable. The neighborhood is very cool, situated in between the Lower Haight, Mission and Castro.
This place was just fine if you need a place to crash after a long day visiting. Marcia is a quiet a curteous woman always eager for a small chat and she also respects your privacy.
It's a good location to visit around san francisco and surrounded by nice place to have breakfast or dinner.
But the only main drawback is if you have a car, expect a 20-25min walk to find a long stay car park maybe less if you are really lucky.
The bed was a bit small and unfortunately the street down the window can be a bit noisy. However it's fine.
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Marcia's place in San Francisco. It well located in the middle of the city, near all sorts of good restaurants, bus lines and sights to see. The room was private, and the bed was firm; perfect for me. Closet space was good. In the common area is a cozy couch from which to watch the street scene though the bay window. Marcia was a great host, providing friendliness, privacy, information and good conversation. Communication with her prior to my arrival was excellent despite my changing plans. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
Once upon a time, many years ago, I took a cross country motorcycle trip and came to San Francisco. We rode down the coast of Oregon and came across the Golden Gate Bridge as the sun was setting and the sky was pink with fog and wind. The City looked magical!
But the first thing I thought of was, "why did anyone build a city on so many hills?" Can you tell I'm from the flat-as-a-pancake Midwest? I fell in love with San Francisco--and you will, too.
