Me and my girlfriend came back to Luxembourg after traveling for 4 months abroad. Since we didn't have a place to stay, we were looking for something nice to go appartement-hunting for a month.
It was so far, my longest stay on Airbnb, 30 days, and I was scared of where we could have landed and who would be the host.
To our great happiness, surprise and relief, not only the Apartment is top notch, it is also greatly situated (bus is picking you up literally at the entrance of the building), there is a parking, free FAST Internet, a small fridge, a microwave ... everything that is in the description and even more (iron, big closet, comfortable bathroom with bathtub, comfortable bed, loads of the drawers for your stuff, a small TV with international channels, a washing machine, heating works great and it's a delight when it was snowing out there! :D ).
Annabelle is a one of a kind host: smiling, happy to help, always there via phone if there is a problem.
She gave us the key when we came and trusted us by letting us know that we could just leave them on the table when leaving.
That is rare and really nice those days.
Also, she didn't step into the privacy of the appartement: we felt as if we were in OUR own home during the month, and that's something that's priceless!
Anybody that needs to stay in Luxembourg, for a short or long stay, definitely has to stop here as it is in Kirchberg, the Business center of Luxembourg, quite near a shopping mall (Cinema, food, electronics), a 10 minute bus ride away from the city center, a 15 minute ride from the airport by car...
In a nutshell, a dream place to stay, an awesome host (and you wish that Airbnb would only be populated by such nice persons) and a great (website hidden): now there is fast wifi internet too, if there is a quirk, contact me :D
They say first impressions are the ones that count. This was my first experience with Airbnb, and WOW, Annabelle definitely made it memorable!
First of all, the flat is magnificent. It is not huge; but it was exactly what we were looking for (a flat for my parents to stay for around 2 weeks close to our house). And they absolutely loved it. Close enough to the Auchan area for them to walk (10 minutes walk or so), very easy to get to the centre (one bus stop is practically just outside the flat, another is 100 metres walk), it gave them the opportunity to visit all the places they wanted. But we had a hard time getting them out of the flat, since they liked it so much! Perhaps it was the decoration, perhaps it was the bed, perhaps it was the cute chairs and table, perhaps it was the wonderful light coming in through the window (yes, even in Luxembourg!!!). This flat really is the definition of “small but perfectly formed”…
And of course, Annabelle provides you with a little fridge, a kettle and a microwave (if you want it), so you can prepare breakfast and quick meals if necessary. There is a washing machine in the basement which my parents used, and there is a parking spot if needed. There is even a “Luxembourg manual” – full of information about Luxembourg and the area and restaurants and things to do and everything.
And then there is Annabelle herself! From the first time I contacted her with my questions (or should I say “bombarded her”), she was amazing. Always quick to respond, always replying to the point, and always giving the impression that she is there to help out with anything. And when you meet her in person, she is even more amazing!!! We were also very lucky to meet her kind, elegant parents who showed us around the flat and gave us all the details necessary since Annabelle had to leave Luxembourg just before my parents arrived. However, this doesn't mean we couldn't get in touch with her: she was always available via SMS or message on Airbnb for any further questions.
To sum up: a wonderful experience, in a wonderful flat, with a wonderful host.
Annabelle thank you so much, we were so lucky to meet you! And whenever we will need some space for family or friends in Luxembourg, I hope your flat will be available!
Communication with Annabelle was great and fast, at the we rented her studio for our parents who where visiting us for a month, she contact me a few later they arrive to see if everything was ok, and and we need anything!
location is good, a bus stop in front of the building and takes 15 min to the city center.
The only bad thing is that it doesn't have wifi, we have to buy a router in order to have wifi connection.
In general good experience
Thank you Daniela, it was great to host your parents ! To add on to your good comments: The studio doesn't have WiFi but it does have high-speed cable internet. While it takes exactly 12 minutes to get to the train station, buses 7 and 18 both stop 100 meters from the studio, come every 6 minutes and take exactly 5 minutes to take you to the pedestrian center - or back. Great to meet you Daniela and all the best to you and your newborn baby !
belle chambre et copropropriete avec garage pour la voiture, tres plaisant
proche du centre de Luxembourg...
Apartment is optimally located within the Kirchberg area close to all institutions. Offers all you need and the host is absolutely great and helpful in responding to any needs you might have in due time. Ideal if you are in town for business in the district, but also downtown is easily reachable within 10 - 15 minutes by bus or taxi.
I did not get to meet Annabelle in person, but she arranged for a friend to show me around the apartment and the facilities. She did keep in touch and was prompt with replies and advice.
The apartment is comfortable and well situated for the offices around Kirchberg. I needed to get the train most mornings and it was easy to get a No 18 bus that took me straight through the centre to the station. There is a No13 bus stop 10yards from the apartment, 15yds away down a grass path is a No18 (plus others) stop which is quite frequent so getting in and out of town, even at night is quite easy.
I also utilised the private parking space which was really handy, a little tight but then you expect that.
The apartment block itself is quite quiet and I only saw about 5 people in the month that I stayed there. There is some road noise from outside but that tends to die down later in the evening and is quiet through the night.
I did walk down to the Utopolis cinema a couple of times and it only takes a leisurely 15 minutes along nice open well lit roadside paths. There are some good running paths around the area, but beware there are a few steep hidden valleys that catch you out.
The apartment had plenty of storage space and was quite homely; Annabelle supplied several sets of bedding and towels along with soap powder for the washing machine which is located in the laundry room downstairs.
I found that the location and apartment suited my needs while being far enough away from the centre to be quiet but close enough to transport to get to the action.
Annabelle did provide a Kettle, Fridge and Microwave in the room so if you need a snack in the evening rather than going out you can put something together.
Once again we were so lucky to find a great place with a great host!
Annabelle was so nice and welcoming - she provided us all the information about the city. It was really great meeting her - she is such an interesting person with an interesting life story.
The studio itself was bright, clean and cosy :) It didn't have a kitchen, but it did have a small fridge and a kettle which was enough for us, otherwise Annabele could provide a microwave. There was also a laundry room in the building which we could use.
The location was also great - we could get a bus to the city centre (or Auchan) or walk there by feet (which takes quite a bit of time but worth it). Also there's a bike-rental stop just a few steps away and a great forest were I could go for a run.
It was a wonderful trip! We would recommend this place for a couple or a single traveller for sure :)
Annabelle, thank you so much! It was a pleasure meeting you!
