Our house is conveniently located near NIH, Suburban Hospital, German School and French School. We are surrounded by lots of trees and you feel as if you were in a countryside. You have your own entrance, but you are welcomed to join us upstairs.

The Space

Separate apartment in a brand new home with its own entrance. Carpeted.

Kitchen/Living room has a comfortable sofa and a chair, big refrigerator, a microwave, toaster oven with coffee machine, HDTV, wireless internet access (20Mbps).

We updated the bedroom with 2 full size beds. It has ample space with a big walk-in closet and a Washer/Dryer combination. Iron, lots of clean towels, sheets and blankets, extra ones available.

Parking is no problem on our driveway, right in front of the door to the apartment.

About 1.8 miles to Bethesda metro station and downtown Bethesda, a bus stop across the street, 5 minute drive to NIH, German School, Congressional Country Club (US open 2011), 5 minute drive to the freeway, 7 minutes to the Potomac river, lots of trees and parks nearby.

It is less than 10 minutes drive to the DC border (Western Avenue) and about 20 minutes drive to the center of DC, including Georgetown, National Zoo, Adams Morgan, National Cathedral, Smithsonian, and White House etc.

To Virginia, it is about 5 minutes drive to the Beltway (I495) and you are in Virgina in 2-3 minutes from there.

Please ask what else you need in the apartment. I am very happy to provide what you would need if I can :)

If you need one more room for an extra person, we are adding a second bedroom in June 2013. Otherwise, we might have a room in the house, our living floor, with extra charge. Please ask me about it.

  • Hiko is a fantastic host who has made the two months temporary stay of me and my daughter not only the most convenient and comfortable but offered us a real and wonderful home! The apartment is spacious and clean and has everything you need. The neighborhood is beautiful and quite and from Bethesda Metro Station it is only a 10 min ride to Washington DC. However, with Great Falls or Chesapeake and Ohio Canal there is great nature around too and Bethesda itself offers a great variety of nice little shops and restaurants. For us it was perfect and we definitely will be back! Thank you again, Hiko!

  • My stay at Hiko's apartment was very pleasant. Her place is spacious, clean, very quiet, and has all the necessary items one needs to make everyday life easy. Hiko is a great host : she was helpful since I just arrived in DC to settle, and needed advice on many different topics.
As well, Hiko's beautiful house, is very conveniently situated, minutes away from Bethesda center, and at the same time in a peaceful neighborhood.
    I greatly recommand her place.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Hiko and her family. They were extremely welcoming and a delight to get to know. The apartment is exactly as it looks in the pictures and is very clean. It had everything we needed to make our own meals, do laundry, and to feel very comfortable during our stay. We would definitely stay with Hiko again and look forward to seeing them again soon, it was a great experience!

  • We had a great time at Hiko's apartment. It is exactly how it looks in the photos, it's very spacious, private entrance and has everything you need and more. Very close to Bethesda Metro Station and from there to D.C is only a 10 min ride. We really felt that we were at home, very cozy and Hiko is the best host ever. She was so kind and always taking care of us. I would highly recommend you to stay there. This was my first experience with AirBnB and everything was smooth and organized. I definitely will continue to use the service!

  • This apartment is wonderful!! All up-to-date, full-sized appliances, very clean and new. The apartment is huge, quiet and very comfortable.
Hiko is a wonderful accomodating host. She will go out of her way to get something you need/want.
Great location (especially if you have a car) and bus stop is just outside the front door.
    Great value for the price!!

  • Our stay was short but we enjoy it since we arrived from Hiko's friendly welcome. The apartment is very private with its own entrance. I has all is needed to cook in a large kitchen. All was spotless clean. Location is great but is best to rent a car even if there are buses and a bust stop very near. I fully recommend this property

  • We loved our 5 day stay at Hiko's apartment in Bethesda. The neighborhood was very beautiful and the apartment itself was very quiet, clean and spacious. Hiko was extremely nice and we enjoyed our conversations with her and her family. We had a 9-month old and so she helped setup the beds so he could sleep on there as well. The apartment has all you would need for a multi-night stay (microwave, fridge, mini-stove, utensils) and there is a safeway grocery store a short drive away. Looking forward to returning on another trip!

We came to the Washington area 25 years ago. I am Japanese and my husband is German. We have 2 lovely daughters who have grown up in three languages/3 cultures. I own a small tennis company and enjoy teaching and playing competitive tennis. We all love music and dancing to the music, either with hoola hoop or without, classic or zumba. Thinking about learning tap dance... We enjoy different sports, playing piano etc etc.
