  • Alex is a very considerate host - he came to pick me up at the airport and also helped with the luggage and gave me a lot of useful information :) He is friendly and helpful but respects privacy.
The apartment is exactly as described - you get your own (small, but was enough for my stay) bedroom, with sofa-bed, sofa and a table, sheets and a towel. The kitchen is small, but is equipped with all the basics. The shower and toilet are separated, which is comfortable. There is also a rather large and nice living room, but I didn't use it. The apartment is a bit off the center, and the neighborhood is not the best, but I had no problems, and it's very quiet and there are grocery stores and restaurants very close by, and the public transportation is also very efficient.
    Definitely worth the price.

  • The room was clean and adequate for my short stay. It was also located near public transport so it would serve as a convenient base for any traveller. Alex was friendly and very accommodating. It was well worth the price.

    February 2014
  • I had a good time at Alex's appartement, Alex is a cool person to talk to and his place is really clean and tidy!

  • My stay in the Hague was most rewarding. Alex is friendly and helpful. He made my life easier in various ways. The place is conveniently situated and accessible by more than one tram.

    February 2014
  • Alex is a good host, not very excited, not very indifferent. His flat is very clean.

    September 2012
  • I lived in Alex's apartment for three nights and it was a very good and comfortable apartment! Alex is very friendly. He took me from Amsterdam to home. His place is also very clean and in a very convenient location. Definitely recommend!

  • The room was nicer than in the photo and Alex was a very helpful and friendly host. The flat was clean and very close to the University where I was attending a conference but it is also close to the trams which take you to most places in The Hague, including the beach.

My only problem was the mattress which was a bit thin for my 55yo back but once I purchased a cheap slat bed base I slept like a baby. I'm sure that if I was 20 years younger it would not have bothered me.

    August 2012
  • Good apartment. Alex is very nice and friendly and help me with some accomodation problems. And apartment is well located(near to station and city center).

    July 2012
  • Great guy Alex and great room to use! Very clean place, great shower, full access to kitchen, tv, offer to borrow bike. Most comfortable loveseat ever in the guest room!! Just wish I had not been working so much so that I'd had more time to watch Euro-cup games with Alex and go to music fest!

  • Overall, Alex is very nice and helpful, willing to answer questions ahead of time and orientate guests to Den Haag after they arrive. He's very into having a clean kitchen, but he explains that in his ad. Everything to be expected is explained in his ad. - he's straightforward and direct in his ad. and in person, which I think is a good thing.

About
My profile for prospective guests: I live in a spacious 3 bedroom apartment 15 mins walk from the center of The Hague . It's close to all amenties: shopping mall , supermarkets , 8 mins from the train station and 3 mins from the closest tram stop . From here to the beach (email hidden) bike ride, and 40 mins by train to Amsterdam. It's not suitable for more than one person unless my flatmate is on holidays . DO ask , anyway . I can offer no - frills accommodation , ie . your own bedroom with youth hostel price (you can have a bedroom just for yourself , and a mattress on the floor with sheets - it is NOT a bed) . I just have the 3 basic Dutch TV channels, because I hardly ever watch it. The apartment is naturally warm with double glazed windows and well insulated and good central heater, but you can always ask me for extra blankets. IMPORTANT UPDATE: WITH THE FANTASTIC GROWTH OF THIS WEBSITE, THERE ARE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ONCE-OFF ACCOMMODATION. MAY I REMIND YOU THAT I'M OPENING MY OWN HOUSE TO YOU, AND CONTRARILY TO A HOTEL/HOSTEL, I HAVE NO INSURANCE TO SAFEGUARD MYSELF OR MY PROPERTY. IF YOU SMOKE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BEFOREHAND. IF YOU HAVE ZERO REFERENCES, PLEASE AT LEAST MAKE AN EFFORT TO CONVINCE ME I SHOULD LET YOU STAY. PUT A PICTURE AND TALK ABOUT YOURSELF. UPDATE TWO: I HAVEN'T ESTABLISHED A MINIMUM STAY BUT UNLESS YOU ARE VERY PERSUASIVE, STAYS OF LESS THAN THREE DAYS WILL BE DECLINED. Thanks!! My profile for prospective hosts: I love travelling, I'm really addicted to it. As you can see from my references, despite being a party-animal, at my own home I am clean and quiet. And I think there's no more fundamental rule to life than "treating other people like you want people to treat you". For me what is great about airbnb is not only the contact with locals, but also the flexibility: you're not stuck to hotel silly checkin/checkout hours, and there will be no one waking you up, as it happens at youth hostel, and normally the price is better than that one of a hotel, or you can just choose to stay in a cheaper part of town, but easily accessible.
