The space
This lovely historic home is now being made available for the public to enjoy. Lovingly restored over the last two years, the home has modern comforts yet transports you back in time when things were a little slower paced.

This grand estate home was built for entertaining the area's wealthiest families and now serves as a wonderful backdrop for your personal gathering or event. The great room and dining room are very spacious with high ceilings and are made to host large groups. Outdoor patios allow you to take in the natural views on all four sides of the home. There are 4 bedrooms located downstairs. Two additional bedrooms and a formal sitting area are located on the second floor. The kitchen is very large and has a breakfast bar and table for small informal dining or snacking.

The beds have been set up with golfing groups in mind and will accommodate 12 people. There are 10 individual beds and a King size bed that will sleep two comfortably. Two of the twin beds are Twin XL to allow for a better sleep for taller guests. The mattresses are very good quality and we have a variety from plush to firm to choose from so you find the right fit.

The Village of Pinehurst, known for its golfing and as a charming resort town, is just 13 miles away. A plethora of dining and shopping options in the towns of Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Seven Lakes or Rockingham are available within a 20-30 minute drive.

Couples, family and groups all enjoy the rustic elegance of the home and the alluring country setting. Its a wonderful place to escape to!

Guest access
Our guests have full access of the home. The great room offers several leather sofas and recliners, a large flat screen TV (Netflix, redbox and other smart-tv options available, as well as a DVD collection ), Grand fireplace, and pool table. WiFi is available. Books and board games are avialable for old-fashioned entertainment.

The dining room has seating for 10 -12 at the main table and 4 additional seats at two private tables.

There is a large butlers pantry stocked with an assortment of serving dishes, wine and cocktail glasses, and many other items you would need to host a large dinner. (For guests' convenience there are some wines and alcoholic beverages available. Guests are asked to replace them before departure or make a financial contribution) .

The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and has many staple items such as condiments or butter or oil. A Kuerig coffee maker and a Ninja coffee maker are available with some initial coffee and tea to get you started.

There are several walking trails in the woods (one goes to a lake) and you are welcomed to roam around. We have a few outdoor sporting accessories. If you have a favorite outdoor game, you’ll want to bring it and take advantage of the gigantic lawn.

Other things to note
IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL ROOMS-- We also have a 4 bedroom farmhouse located 2 miles away that offers 2 queen beds, 2 full size beds and 1 day bed. It's also a lovely private home and sets beneath majestic long leaf pines on 35 acres. see "THE HOMEPLACE" on Airbnb for details.

House broken pets are welcomed BUT NEED PRIOR APPROVAL. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE AND DESCRIBE ANY PETS PRIOR TO BOOKING. Pet's toenails need to be trimmed prior to visiting . We have a large crate if you need one but we need to know in advance.

There is a garage on the property that my husband and father use on occasion. You may see a parked at the garage (detached) if they need to pick up tools or do work. I try to let guests know in advance if they are stopping by.

Being in the country, a couple days a year you may notice some odors from nearby farmers if you are outside. It's not noticeable in doors and varies from faint to mild depending on weather conditions. We only notice it a couple days a year, but if you plan to spend the majority of your time outside and this is a concern, please ask before booking and I'll check with the neighbors to see about their fertilizing/ cleaning schedules. This will, however, delay my response in getting back to you for booking.

Located in the Sandhills of NC- just 2.5 hours to the coast or the mountains, this is a great home base for any visit.

All the great attractions of Pinehurst, and Southern Pines or Rockingham are within 30 minutes drive.

In addition to golf, and shopping the historic villages, there are great gardens to visit, natural hiking and biking trails, disc golf, pottery tours, historic walking or bus tours, clay shooting, access to NC game lands, antiques shops, an escape room, libraries, the NC Zoo, and much more all within an hour's drive.

Just across the road is a private air strip that has fun "fly-ins" on occasion. About .25 miles away is an old fashion general store (open May-Sept only) with great local produce, hand dipped ice cream and local crafts. If you visit in the summer you should plan to stop by the Derby General store daily!

There are a few convenient stores nearby if you need to pick up snacks or gas but the home is in a very rural agriculture area, away from the hustle and bustle. .. and that's what makes it so charming!
Raleigh or RDU Airport is approximately 1.5 hours away and Charlotte or CLT Airport is an easy 2 hour drive.

Chuck and I like to think we bring balance to the world... I am an artsy, yoga loving, hippie vegetarian and he is a methodical gun loving hunter that works as a chemical engineer. Lol. But it works. I am a real estate broker with a serious house-habit. When I was younger I said I would collect houses, and well, we’ve started doing that. So to justify the habit we’ve decided to rent them out. After all, it’s an expensive habit to keep up!! Chuck and I both love traveling. One of our future homes will no doubt, be an RV. But for now we enjoy staying at Bed and Breakfasts, Airbnb’s and doing home Exhange. When forced, we will get a hotel. In our houses you’ll see a nice blend of masculine and feminine influences. While I do most of the decorating, Chuck helps on occasion and I often drag him with me to antique shops to help me select pieces. So whether you are a hippie or a hunter, I think you’ll feel comfortable staying with us. Thank you for supporting my habit!!

During your stay
Your hosts, Tiffany and Chuck, can be available to meet you upon arrival if the time is set up in advance but they do not live on the property. Kim, the property caretaker lives just a few minutes away. The three will be available if you need help at the home and can easily be reached by phone or text with any questions or suggestions.

We are happy to help you plan your trip ahead of time and can offer suggestions for golfing, dining, shopping, and other outdoor activities. Chuck is a hunting/shooting enthusiast and Tiffany is a longtime local , artist and real estate broker so they can offer many suggestions . While we don't personally cook for guests (you're welcome) we can suggest professional cooks or caterers to prepare meals for your group at the home. Grocery stores are 15-25 mins away if you would like to do your own cooking and restaurants are in the same areas. If you will be arriving late and need help picking up some groceries before hand we may be able to help with that.

There is a small private airstrip just across from the estate. If you plan to fly in and would like to borrow a vehicle during your stay we can arrange that.

While we won't be on site with you during your stay, we will certainly try to make our selves available to assist you anytime you need help- before, during, or after your visit.
