3 bedroom cottage on a flat block with a pleasant private garden outlook. Self-contained, quiet location, and non- smoking environment. Close to beach, river, cafes and bowls club. Sleeps 6, with the main bed made up. Bring linen for single beds.
Staying at Ginger Cottage is a bit like a farm stay in the middle of Scotts Head village. It is in a quiet location and the gardens are private. We have kept our pricing reasonable to attract families to stay and there are heaps of things for kids to do. It is an easy walk or short drive to all our village's attractions. 500 m to shops, 300 m to beach, 250 m to Bowls Club, 800 m to Warrell Creek boat ramp and 100 m to park and playing fields.
The cottage has a washing machine, BBQ, cooking facilities, microwave, ironing facility, and TV/DVD. There is also a high chair, portable cot and baby bath if you are travelling with an infant.
Scotts Head is small but it has a butchery, bakery, 2 cafes that both make excellent coffee, bottle shop, surf shop and surf school, Tippany's clothing and gift shop, and a general store..... Not to mention the most amazing beaches and beautiful surrounds.
We supply pillows and pillow cases, doona covers and doonas for all beds but only supply sheets and towels for the main bedroom (king bed). Please bring sheets and towels for extra beds (singles). If you are unable to supply your own linen we can provide a set (flat and fitted sheet and bath towel) for $10. We also hire beach towels for $5 per person.
Guests have access to the Cottage and it's gardens. There is a carport/laundry that is useful for storing surf boards, boat, etc. There is room to park a couple of vehicles on the grass. Guests can also have access to the vegetable gardens. There is usually herbs and a salad to be picked. There could be some fruit available too depending on the season.
Interaction with Guests
Phil and myself access the gardens at Ginger Cottage to feed the chickens or water the vegetable garden. We can do this in arrangement with the guests. We are often around to welcome guests but we respect your privacy. We are available if you require any local knowledge or need any assistance.
•Please respect the neighbours and keep noise to minimum between 10pm and 8am.
•No Smoking inside the cottage.
•The towels are for domestic use only. Please do not take them to the beach.
•Checkout time is 10am, unless another time has been arranged. This gives us time to prepare the cottage for other guests.
•On departure, please leave keys on desk where you found them, and the glass back door unlocked.
•Please park no more than 2 vehicles on the property.
•Council rubbish collection is every Wednesday morning. Please place the green bin (if used) and either the red or yellow bin (see dates on fridge) at curb Tuesday night.
•Please leave the cottage as you found it.
•At times the owners access the grounds to care for the chooks and water the veggie gardens. We respect your privacy and can arrange a time that suits you.
Trish made us very welcome at her Ginger Cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed with everyday essentials. Children enjoyed the games, books and toys supplied as well as lovely garden. We wished we could stay longer at Scotts Head and Ginger Cottage.
Aga, Stuart and the kids
Trish and Phil dropped by shortly after our arrival to introduce themselves and see if there was anything we needed. The house was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. It was lovely having our meals outside on the front porch. There was a wide variety of veggies in the garden that we had use of and fresh eggs as well. Both Trish and Phil offered suggestions for surf lessons and we're happy to answer any questions we had. Scotts Head is a small, very clean and quiet community with a wonderful beach and beautiful vistas. It has a small grocery, baker and butcher. The grocery is quite expensive so if you need to purchase a lot there is a cheaper store in nearby Macksville. This was our very first Airbnb experience and we were extremely happy with it. Thanks to Trish, Phil and Holly for making us so welcome! We would have loved to stay longer.
We have just returned from a wonderful and restful break (and a very reasonably priced one considering it was Christmas) at Ginger Cottage.
Trish and Phil were very welcoming and the ability to pick veggies from the garden and collect eggs from the chooks was something you don't get at many B & Bs!
The cottage had everything we needed and was a real home from home. It was situated in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. The BBQ provided with cleaning tools was a bonus.
Scotts Head is small but perfectly formed (!) and the cottage had easy access to the beach, a convenience store, restaurant, bakery etc. We ate out one night at the Bowls Club and another at the restaurant Taverna 6 (recommended to book there) and didn't feel the need to go any further afield for meals.
Ideal place for a get away from it all break especially for families with young children.
Trish was a very welcoming host. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The use of the vegetable garden was a unique added bonus. All in all I would highly recommend a stay at ginger cottage.
Everything about our stay was just fabulous! Our hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, the description of the home was very accurate and the place was immaculate! We loved the quiet neighborhood and have nothing negative to report....we will be back!!
We loved our stay at Ginger Cottage. Trish made us feel very welcome and generously shared her spectacular vegetable garden with us, as well as letting our kids look after the chickens and collect (and eat!) the eggs! They had a wonderful time playing in the garden. The cottage itself was perfect, lovely bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, as well as a great outside cooking/eating area. The extra, thoughtful additions made our stay even more special though- toys in the kids rooms, kids DVDs and colouring books; great BBQ tools and cleaning stuff; water jug and ice in the fridge; and letting us checkout late because no one else was coming in that day. Fantastic place to stay and would definitely stay again! Thanks Trish:-)
Trish was a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and welcoming. The pictures are a true reflection of this beautiful property which is close to everything you need. Trish even allowed us to enjoy her yummy fresh vegetables and eggs from the chickens. Scotts Head is a place that is perfect for a family holiday and Ginger Cottage has everything you need.
Potter/painter, keen gardener, beach lover, motor cycle enthusiast. I live next door (behind) Ginger Cottage but we share our vegetable garden with our guests. My husband is a keen fisherman and is only too happy to talk fish, offering hints and tips (and maybe a few secrets) to our guests. I love walking on the beach, canoeing with my daughter, living the quiet life. If you stay at Ginger Cottage you'll see what I mean.
