About this listing
CASA GUADALUPE 2 is a lovely two bedroom home. The main part of the house has a full kitchen and combination living room & dining room. The second bedroom is on the mezzanine level below and small but it does have its own bathroom. This room is perfect for a child or an adult that is not to large.
The house is located in the happening San Antonio District of San Miguel de Allende, two blocks from the Instituto de Allende and a short walk to the Jardin in the center of town. The house is cozy with many artistic touches. An added bonus is the beautiful Mirador (roof top patio) which has outdoor seating and great views of the city.
If you are interested in renting both Guadalupe 1 and 2 for a larger group please make contact and I will quote you a price. It is possible to sleep 6 if you rent the entire property. This of course is dependent on the availability of both casas.

This rooftop mirador is shared with our other two bedroom house Guadalupe 1 and has fabulous views of the city.

PRIVACY AND SERVICE: This is a vacation rental and our guests are the sole occupants. I have a house manager, who speaks good english, should you need anything during your stay. I am always available via email or phone to answer any questions you might have to help prepare you for your vacation.
SAN ANTONIO NEIGHBORHOOD: Our neighborhood is mixed with both local people and ex-patriots who all get along well. It is an exciting place with lots of restaurants, shops, services and the art and language school, The Instituto de Allende. It is also very near to the new fancy hotel The Rosewood and only a 15 minute walk to the Jardin in the center of town.
GETTING AROUND: As we are in the old historical part of town it is easy to walk everywhere. Taxi's charge only 35 pesos or $3 US and are easily available and safe. There is also a bus that will take you into town from Ancha San Antonio, the main drag of the neighborhood.

Casa Guadalupe 2 had all the quaintness of San Miguel de Allende, rich with Mexican culture. The location was great, just a few blocks into the heart of the city. Craig was incredibly responsive and even helpful in providing resources, including getting us wonderful transportation to and from the airport. Domi, who helps care for the property, truly was just a phone call away to help in record time if anything was needed.
This was our second stay at Casa Guadalupe and Craig was as superb a host as before. The San Antonio neighborhood is ideal for visiting San Miguel: near shopping, far enough away from hustle and bustle, and with great views of the area from the roof deck. The apartment has everything we needed including an air-conditioner for the day or two when the weather got a bit toasty. The kitchen was adequate and the housekeeper who came three days a week was super-efficient and cordial. We will miss her and Casa Guadalupe!
When my wife and I arrived in San Miguel we had precise instructions how to arrive at the apartment. The house manager met us and showed us the workings of the casita. We had been in SMA before and so knew what was where. We loved the San Antonio neighborhood, close to everything but not precious or noisy. The casita was exactly as described and pictured.
OK place to stay short-term but there are better places in San Miguel for the price. We stayed in 2 other units during our week stay in SMA and this was our last favourite. Consider renting an entire house if you are traveling with a group of people. The immediate neighborhood isn't the most idyllic but it's a short 10 min walk to central areas.
Despite being help up in traffic and arriving over an hour late, we were given a friendly welcome by our host who showed us around the thoughtfully decorated apartment.
We enjoyed our two nights at Casa Guadalupe 2. It is situated in a quiet lane and is a pleasant walk to the centre of San Miguel. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the rooftop patio in the evening.
I should mention the second bedroom for future users. It is very small and the spare adult in our trio had to improvise a little to have a good night's sleep. However, we were not misled by Craig, I simply did not read the clear description of the bed as being fit only for a child! But this is worth remembering for those who are considering a stay at this great house.
The accomodations are exactly as pictured; casa Guadalupe is a very charming and warm home. We loved having so much open areas to relax, cook and come back to after our day trips and daily walks to the "Centro".
Thank you to Domi who was gracious and met us at the house door steps, as she promised, at a very late hour of midnight. We arrived in Leon (from San Francisco) and had a 2 hr drive to San Miguel. Our transport service was at the airport to meet us and was also very wonderful (Viajes San Miguel). Casa Guadalupe is close to everything in San Miguel, we walked everywhere and never needed a taxi. All sites, shops, restaurants and parks (Juarez) are within a 15-20 min leisurely walk.
Casa Guadalupe has a few sitting areas, ample kitchen (stocked with plates, cooking utensils and core condiments (salt, coffee filters, soap, bottled water)) and cozy bedroom. You can enjoy your fresh coffee and breakfast in the open terrace upstairs or in the small open terrace right off the living room.
We loved San Miguel, would come back in heart beat. Thanks to Craig and Cristina for having a lovely, welcoming and cozy home for us to enjoy and relax during our stay.
Casa Guadalupe is a truly fantastic place to stay in San Miguel. Gorgeous and spacious apartment with a roof top terrace that will leave you breathless. We enjoyed the apartment and being in walking distance from the town center (10-15 minutes) and other charming neighborhoods. All the amenities were very nice as well, including a full kitchen, nice bathroom, very comfy bed, and more. Craig was very helpful and communicative and Domitila, who opened the apartment for us, was very sweet.
