Other things to note
Only a short stay with us ?
Some visits to not miss ! If only a two night stop, these places can be easily slotted into the one day you have for sightseeing.
Turn left out of the car park
Head north through the village towards Peterhead.
Stop first at the harbour in Cruden Bay and maybe take a walk on the beach.(Beach towels in the airing cupboard)
Continue through the village, on the right, is a carpark and you can then walk easily to Slains Castle.
Back on the road and a few hundred yards along on the right is another carpark. From here, walk through the small group of old fisher cottages to look at ‘the pot’ …Bullers of Buchan. Lots of bird life and at the right time of year, Puffins !!!
Continue along the road to the A90 and turn right if you want to visit Peterhead.

Turn right out of the car park.
Head towards Aberdeen.
At the crossroads about 4 miles down the road turn left to Collieston. A pretty harbour village and beach with a shop selling snacks and drinks.
Just before the village is the entrance to Forvie Nature Reserve…great walks to the beach across the sand dunes. Lots of flora, fauna and birdlife
Back on the road to Aberdeen, go over the Ythan estuary (look for herons at low tide) and enter Newburgh. Just before leaving the village, turn left for the beach and…..SEALS !! Lots of seals !!

A longer visit? but not far, is Fyvie Castle
Turn right out of the car park.
At the crossroads about 4 miles down the road turn right …signposted Ellon… continue to the main A90 roundabout.
Straight across. Turn left at the next roundabout for Ellon.
At next roundabout go all the way round and up the centre of Ellon…..or park briefly in the car park by the river for a walk along the river bank and a coffee at the Coffee Lab.
Then, round the roundabout and turn first left on B9005. Follow the signs for Fyvie.
Haddo House is worth a visit before getting to Fyvie Castle, Angie’s favourite fairytale castle. A great walk around the lake, an interesting visit inside, a walled garden, food and drinks in the castle kitchen.

If you’re staying for longer, then check out the pink Tourist Information folder and the basket of leaflets by the dresser.
Lots to see within a short distance of Sycamore Hall.
Enjoy !!!
