Other Things to Note
Guest Parking is to the left and right of our driveway. All guests should be mindful of reading the Street Signs. Montreal is a big city and permit parking is the norm. We are lucky to have Guest parking, but our guests have to read the signs to comply with street cleaning and moving the car on certain days. We are not responsible for tickets or towing of any vehicle. It is the guests responsibility. Thanks, Robert
The maximum occupancy for this rental is 2. If there are more than 2 people occupying the condo you will be asked to leave without refund. If we find that you have more than 2 people staying at the condo you will be charged $95 per night per couple and will still be asked to leave without refund.
( I had to add this extra protection because I had a guest say it was just her and husband and found it was actually 6 people. Air BNB is based on trust and I hope all parties can respect that.)
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My fiance and I arrived in 8F weather to a warm apartment with a bottle of wine and chocolate wafers to greet us. The room was very clean and the wifi signal was strong. That proved very helpful for a couple of US residents who weren't super familiar with the lay of the land. The location of this place cannot be beat for foodies and culture-fiends alike. A 15 minute walk to Mont Royal, Old Montreal / Old Port, even closer to Plateau and its bohemian feel. When we got home, we started a fire and warmed up on the futon. Not a single complaint.
We loved staying at the urban tree fort! The location is in a great neighborhood and perfect for walking to bars and restaurants nearby. The space itself has an amazing retro feel that is so cozy. The fireplace was wonderful for the freezing temps outside, and the bed was so comfortable as well. We were welcomed by a bottle of champagne and chocolate from Robert being that it was New Year Eve, so thoughtful! Overall a perfect place for a couple to stay while in Montreal.
Robert made us feel very welcome, providing firewood and a welcoming spread with cookies and beer. The apartment is artfully decorated and very cozy. I would emphasize that this is a studio with the bed in the main living space. I might recommend that the chimney be serviced, as it was difficult to have a fire without smoke spilling out into the room. Although, it was recommended to use only one log. I would add that the log should be pushed back as far as possible in the fireplace to avoid any problems. Overall, highly recommended for its location, homey feel, and sophisticated decor.
Thanks for the review.
The advertising reflects that the condo is indeed a Studio with bed alcove.
FYI our Chimney is and was serviced every year... Full clean. It is a shallow fireplace, stressing no big fires and being sure the flue is open. 3 hour logs or non creosote logs are preferred. Thanks, Robert
The Urban Tree Fort is a welcomed sanctuary on one of the most beautiful, private streets in Montreal, and perfectly positioned in the city. It is steps away from a beautiful parc-Square Saint- Louis, and the bustling (website hidden)-Laurent via the charming pedestrian street, Rue Prince Arthur. Taking a right from the front door means 2 minutes to a cab on Sherbrooke - SO EASY!! It is nestled between the metro, art district, gay district, countless entertainment venues, and a short jump to both the Mile End (the Brooklyn of Montreal), and Parc du Mont-Royal. Inside, the decor is simply beautiful and thoughtfully pulled together in such a way that the place amplifies a visit to this great city. The Fort, in itself, is a beautiful memory, and one that pulls me back, anticipating my next stay. Robert is an exceptional host: open communication, kind, and thoughtful. He welcomes you with a bottle of delicious wine or regional beer and a welcome note that will undoubtedly be added to your scrapbook pile of vacation memories. In a way, the Urban Tree Fort is a best kept secret. There is no reason to stay in a hotel or some generic place when instead you can stay in a dream home away from home - that's what if feels like to be at the Urban Tree Fort. This is my third visit to the Fort. Once I found the Fort, I chose not to stay anywhere else, and I am already coordinating my next visit. THIS is the AirBnB experience everyone hopes for!! Truly Wonderful.
When in Montreal, we really like staying around "square St Louis". A lovely neighborhood! So we were very happy to find Robert's place. His flat is as charming as it looks on the pictures. As soon as we stepped in, we felt home. We opened the wine bottle he kindly offered us, and just enjoyed.
The flat was very clean and tidy. It is rather small but still very comfortable for two. It has large sofas facing the fireplace.
Be in contact with Robert was a pleasure. He always answered promptly and regularly checked that we got the information we needed. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and checking out was extremely easy.
The Urban Tree Fort was everything one could hope for in a 'home-away-from-home'; conveniently located, very clean, great amenities, wonderful host and lovely sense of the owner's decor. We were greeted with wine and chocolate, how thoughtful is that!
This was my first Airbnb experience and if everyone is as thoughtful as Robert, I won't hesitate to use it again! If you're in Montreal and want to be on the Plateau and close to Downtown, this is the place. I had wanted to explore St. Laurent, Mile End and Downtown, so this was perfect for me. Close to everything but because of how it is located, very quiet. I wanted to feel like a regular resident, travelling to my local cafe, boulangerie or pub on a daily basis. This afforded me that luxury. The place is quaint, exactly the kind of space I imagine I would live in if I was there.
Robert is a model host and I certainly will be back next time I visit Montreal!
