CASA GUADALUPE 1 is an artistic one bedroom home with a loft and covered patio that can sleep 4 to 5. The house is very cozy with wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces and is great being together or finding your own private space.
CASA GUADALUPE 1 - HOUSE DESCRIPTION: The house has a master bedroom with a Queen bed and a loft above that has an additional matrimonial bed. The loft is open to the downstairs bedroom and the bathroom is shared. There is a covered patio with a sofa bed if you don't mind being in the open air that is also a lovely sitting area. This makes the house ideal for a couple, close friends or a family with 1, 2 or even 3 kids. The open floor plan contains a kitchen, dining area and living room which look out to the lovely garden patio which is a wonderful place to have your meals.
In addition the house also includes a large rooftop patio that is partially covered. This mirador is shared with our other two bedroom house Guadalupe 2 and has fabulous views of the city.
MAID SERVICES: We provide maid service three days a week to wash your clothes, clean the house, make your beds, wash your dishes and take care of the many plants that grace the property. Marta works at the house Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
GUEST ACCESS: Our guests will have sole access to Casa Guadalupe 1 with their own keys. The rooftop mirador is shared with Casa Guadalupe 2. The house has a street door, an inner gate and a front door which all lock for complete security.
Interaction with Guests
PRIVACY AND SERVICE: This is a vacation rental and our guests are the sole occupants. I have a house manager, who speaks good english, should you need anything during your stay. Upon renting the property I will provide you with additional information about the house and San Miguel de Allende. I am always available via email or phone to answer any questions you might have to help prepare you for your vacation.
SAN ANTONIO: Our neighborhood is mixed with both local people and ex-patriots who all get along well. It is an exciting place with lots of restaurants, shops, services and the art and language school, The Instituto de Allende. It is also very near to the new fancy hotel The Rosewood and only a 15 minute walk to the Jardin in the center of town.
As we are in the old historical part of town it is easy to walk everywhere. Taxi's charge only 35 pesos or $3.50 US and are easily available and safe. There is also a bus that will take you into town from Ancha San Antonio, the main drag of the neighborhood.
Other Things to Note
RENTING BOTH GUADALUPE 1 & 2: It is possible to rent both houses which are connected and sleep a total of 6 to 7 people. Please contact me if you are interested and I can quote you a price. This of course is dependent on both houses being available.
There is a $25 charge for my house manager to wait for you at the house, give you the keys and answer any questions you may have. This is paid directly to her and is in addition to the rent paid on AiRBnB. She often wait into the night for guests to arrive and must take a taxi to and from her home. There is no smoking in the house but you can smoke in the outside areas. The gas heaters should be turned off at night when you are sleeping and when you are not in the house. The heaters are only necessary a few months out of the year. Please lock all doors with the keys provided when you leave the house and also at night. The roof top mirador is a shared space so please treat your fellow renter with courtesy if both houses are rented.
We spent the New Years at Casa Guadalupe and we really enjoyed the stay. The house was close to the center of the town and everything was within a walking distance. The house itself is unique and beautiful.
I suggest that the directions to the house be provided online. Relying on GPS or (website hidden) maps didn't help.
Linda casa! No me gusto haber tenido que pagar a la persona que nos abrió la casa. El barrio no es el mejor, pero es seguro y se puede caminar tranquilamente.
Place was great! Very well located on quiet street but only about 15 minutes from the jardin. Beautiful rooftop terrace with a great view. Wi-Fi worked great and the Madoff was nice enough to do some laundry for me. Would recommend for a stay in SMA.
It was pretty easy to find the house considering I have no cellular service in Mexico. I just made sure i printed a good map and instructions before hand.
I was in town for a wedding and was only staying a couple nights.
The place was amazing. The decor, the amenities were great! Even though it was Mexico the mattresses were soft! I have family in Mexico and know what its like to find a good mattress. Everything we needed was in the bathroom; plenty of fresh towels, hot water (took a bit to warm up but no issue).
My only suggestion is taking a look at the gas heater in the living room. We called our manager (Domi) on how to start it and we got it going right. But made the entire room smell of gas. Maybe gas in Mexico is scented more stronger than in the States, I don't know. Might wanna see if the chimney is not clogged.
It is located in an area where many taxi's drive by so there's always no wait for one.
The rooftop patio was amazing. Perfect to watch the sunset and chill at night with friends.
Thanks for the nice review. Sorry about the gas smell. There are actually 3 heaters in the living/dining room area. Gas smell is a problem in general with the type of heaters, but I will have that one checked out. The house does have wifi in the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms so sorry you missed that.
This was the perfect place for our stay in San Miguel. The house was beautiful and looked just like the photos. Clean, quiet, and close to the center of town.
I Have a great time at San Miguel, the house is lovely and you have all the services, I couldn't meet Craig, but Domitila is such a great person, she make feel in home. Downtown it's very close from the house, I totally recommended.
