Welcome to The Hayloft - a former grocery store that's become a Saskatoon landmark.

Visit our website via a web search if you'd like to learn more about the history of the space

The Hayloft features playful reproductions of prairie architecture: a barn, grain elevator and grain bin that brings Saskatchewan to life. Walk five minutes to Saskatoon's best restaurants, bars and shops in the heart of Riversdale. Or hit the parks, playgrounds or gorgeous river bank trails in all seasons.

The space
The Hayloft was built in the 1930s as Western Canada’s smallest Safeway grocery store. In 2007 Shift Development CEO Curtis Olson and singer/songwriter Carrie Catherine turned it into the Hayloft - a live/work space and one of Canada’s most unique house concert venues.

The Hayloft supports any mood or function - a huge open space to spread out with friends and family, or a cozy artists' respite with fireplace and heated floors.

A grain elevator: The grain elevator is a scale replica of the real prairie icon and contains a towering set of bunk beds that make use of the 18' ceilings.

A barn: a quiet office space that doesn't need a virtual zoom background. Or a play space for kids full of games, toys and a comfy bean bag.

A spotlit stage for those extemporaneous theatre productions, speeches or karaoke nights.

A swing!

A kitchen for cooks: The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to eat well at home including a 12' African rosewood island, 3" concrete countertops, double sink, bar sink, double fridge, wine fridge, maple kitchen cabinets, most dishes, cookware and staples you'll need.

Wide and open yet cozy: Huge windows bring in light without sacrificing privacy. In-floor heating and a fireplace makes The Hayloft cozy and warm throughout the winter.

Guest access
As guests you are welcome to enjoy the entire space. All yours :)

Other things to note
No more than 8 guests are allowed at the Hayloft at any time. If you'd like to have additional guests please contact me before booking.

Pets are only allowed with permission. Shedding animals will not be allowed for stays of more than 2 nights.
