•Desfrute Salvador (enjoy Salvador)!
David (and his adorable family) were wonderful and very helpful! Before you even arrive, David provided information about the house and area which was very very helpful! The apartment is lovely (just like the photos) and is located about 5 min walk from the old city (its amazing!) and the bus stop to Barra (beach side). Bonus- the wifi was super fast and English channels on tv! We highly recommend!!!
Dave our host was very nice, he helped us when needed, and was interested in our well being. Easy to get in contact with and fast on aiding. The neighbourhood was good, everybody said it was dangerous in the nighttime but we managed without no problem, took taxis. It was a perfect vacation!
Our stay at Pelourinho was great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a more local experience in Salvador. David's input was really helpful. He recommended the Saturday football match and it was our best experience there. The location is right by some bar-restaurants which we loved but the street can be a little noisy. It's also within walking distance of the touristic areas which was nice. I'd definitely do it again.
A great welcome, David sorted a car from the airport for us, showed us round the local area and gave us loads of helpful advise. Couldn't have done more.
It's a beautiful flat, very clean and comfortable, and in a great area. We had a lovely time.
Très bel appartement ! David est très disponible et met tout en oeuvre pour faciliter notre séjour.
The apartment was lovely, clean, and well equipped. Great location and very affordable! I don't have one bad thing to say about my stay here. I wasn't able to meet David in person as he was overseas though he was always quick to reply via email and his driver Alex was close at hand to help with anything if needed.

About the Host, David
I'm from Sydney, Australia, and live in Salvador, Brazil, with my beautiful Bahian wife Angela Paula and our spirited Aussie-Brazilian kids Rafael and little sister Eva. A lawyer and economist by training, I left management consulting over ten years ago, joining a nonprofit organization working across Africa and Latin America, before meeting my wife and settling here in the city that is the perfect expression of African soul and Latin American rhythm, melded during centuries into the truly unique cultura baiana. We love offering free advice to all visitors so that you can enjoy the well-kept secrets of Salvador; eg. live jazz at sunset at the restored customs house overlooking Bahia de Todos os Santos, Salvador’s best ice cream on the old seafront at Ribeira, or watching the ‘gente bonita’ (beautiful people) and tackling a great surf break at a classic beach bar on the northside of the city, and – of course – all the best live music events and festivals for which the city is renowned. Seja bem-vindo!
