Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We had an excellent experience with this property. The property itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. The location near the historic centre of the city makes it an excellent jumping off point to enjoy many of Salvador's attractions.

David was a fabulous host and provided us with all the information we required in order to enjoy Salvador, including a written guide with suggestions about Salvador's best sites, activities, and restaurants. Whenever we encountered a situation where more advanced Portuguese was required to make arrangements (mine is quite basic), David was always available to communicate on our behalf. Not to mention he and his wife are lovely people in general and always made us feel welcome at their property.

  • Angela and Dave were always available for any suggestions about the city or for any doubts we have; they are very friendly.
The apartment is very comfortable, new and well furnished; it is located in a good position; in the same street you can find also the house of the movie "Dona Flor" by Jorge Amado.
We had a great time in Salvador.

  • I would definitely recommend David and his wife are great and attentive hosts! David provided detailed information about the neighborhood, precautions to take, and places to visit in the city. The location is perfect for site seeing and research. I only planned on staying for two weeks but will stay longer!

  • David is very welcoming and helpful, both for the tips and services when needed.
The appartment is clean and luminous, just consider taking a cab to come back there at night, Salvador's street are not the safest.
    Great stay in general.

  • Great stay. Comfortable rooms, with fully equipped kitchen. The hosts were very helpful in pointing out places to go, does and don't when navigating the streets of Salvador. Would highly recommend David's place as a place to stay if you're going to Salvador, for the World Cup, or as a tourist visiting the pelourinho.

  • David is a truly WONDERFUL host! He picked us up at the airport, showed us around and helped us with everything we needed! We will always be grateful to have met him!!
The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. It is just a few blocks to pelourinho. Since we unfortunately stayed in Salvador during the police strike we couldn't fully enjoy the city but with David's help we still had a nice stay and will surely come back!
    Thank you David!!

I'm from Sydney, Australia, and live in Salvador, Brazil, with my beautiful Bahian wife Angela Paula and our spirited little Aussie-Brazilians Rafael and baby sister Eva. A lawyer and economist by training, I left management consulting over ten years ago, joining a nonprofit organization working across Africa and Latin America, before meeting my wife and settling here in the city that is the perfect expression of African soul and Latin American rhythm, melded during centuries into the truly unique cultura baiana. We love offering free advice to all visitors so that you can enjoy the well-kept secrets of Salvador; eg. live jazz at sunset at the restored customs house overlooking Bahia de Todos os Santos, Salvador’s best ice cream on the old seafront at Ribeira, or watching the ‘gente bonita’ (beautiful people) and tackling a great surf break at a classic beach bar on the northside of the city, and – of course – all the best live music events and festivals for which the city is renowned. Seja bem-vindo!
