Interaction with Guests
I like to get to know my guess. a Gabbier.
Westwood is an old logging community and at the turn of the last century it was one of the biggest in California. People are friendly and there are many old homes in the area.
Daily buss to and from Susanville and Chester
Quiet after 11 PM. Pets are welcome if cleaned up after.
David is an engaging and thoughtful host with a large historically important home in this mountain community. The home is full of windows feeding lots of light to his many houseplants. The drinking water in this location is amazing. David reminded me to drink more than normal due to the elevation. The fruit of his raspberry bushes were part of my backyard breakfast by the sunflower strewn garden; a moment in the sun I will not easily forget. I enjoyed my stay and will likely book more nights in the future.
David was very friendly and we had a pleasant stay in a clean and quiet room. David gave excellent directions
David is a very accommodating, kind-hearted host. He was incredibly flexible with our arrival time and settled us right into his home. We instantly felt comfortable. Three of us cozily stayed in one bedroom. Everything was mindfully set up for us. We also had our own bathroom. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the house and to get a grand tour and information about the quirky aspects of the place. Overall, we highly recommend staying with David. Getting to know him and sleeping at his lovely home, although brief, was a treat.
Wonderful stay. David made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and comfortable--especially for crashing in after a 10 mile day hike! Learned lots of interesting history tidbits about this old mill town as well. Friendly community.
David provided us with great information about where to go and what to do in Westwood. He was a gracious host , his house is within walking distance to restaurants , bars , and grocery store.
We enjoyed our stay with David as we were passing through the area.
David is friendly, accommodating, intelligent, and helpful with providing all kinds of information useful for a traveler or sightseer. The home is enormous and charming. The room is spacious, comfortable, and bright. It was a pleasure to meet David and to stay at his home.
David was very hospitable and the room was private, clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.
