Uniquely renovated guest house within mid-century modern home.
Fronting the Brackenridge Golf Course & the headwaters of the San Antonio river, the house is nestled within the park-like River Road Neighborhood, an eclectic, cozy little sanctuary slightly north of downtown. Conveniently located within walking distance to The Pearl & River Walk Extention, Brackenridge Park, The Witte Museum, the San Antonio Zoo, the Japanese Tea Garden, the shops & restaurants of St. Mary's St. & Broadway and Trinity & Incarnate Word Universities.
Your space is a remodeled studio apartment with private entrance and bathroom filled with novel detail and character. A wonderful queen size bed and separate sofa which turns into a full bed awaits you. There is a flat screen TV with cable and SD card reader to view pictures you might have taken and a combination record, CD and radio player to chill out to. You have full use of the grounds - deck in the front yard and maybe even a short chip onto the green fronting the house. You have the use of two cruisers to get around and there is a brand new bike share program in San Antonio with kiosks right by my house at the nearby YMCA for add'l bikes ((website hidden) 'bikeshare san antonio' to get more details.) And for the serious cyclist, Bikeworld at the Pearl rents out 10 speeds at a 2 for 1 discount to all guests. There are hike and bike trails throughout the park and an athletic host that knows the pulse of San Antonio quite well.
The space includes coffee and coffee maker, instant hot water pitcher and tea, microwave and all the fixings that go along with your morning beverages. The mini fridge will have some cool drinks and snacks upon your arrival at no extra charge. Oatmeal, popcorn and other assorted snacks are provided for your enjoyment. There is also a gas BBQ outside that you are more than welcome to use. Just let me know and I will get you the utensils you need.
What can I say? Sharon was wonderful and accommodating! The neighborhood is hidden, cozy, and eclectic. Close to Brackenridge Park, the Pearl Brewery, and downtown San Antonio. I ended up getting in late and Sharon made sure I was taken care of, the casita was well stocked, and that a bike was available for me to ride through the park. The rain shower was heavenly and the bed was comfortable. Ambient lighting and some wonderful zydeco music made the whole experience more than I could've hoped for. Thanks so much to Sharon for being a fabulous host with a wonderfully unique casita! I can't thank you enough!
Sharon has a great studio apartment set up in a great neighborhood of San Antonio. She was a wonderful, hospitable host. She was easy to contact, and flexible with out schedule. We are very glad we stayed with her.
The reservation was canceled 107 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great time in the Casita! It was just as advertised, and Sharon was perfectly kind and accommodating. She gave us directions and advice, let us use her bikes, and filled the house with healthy snacks for when we checked in. The house is walking distance from the zoo and tea gardens, near local bus stops, and easy biking/bus distance from downtown. We would rent it again in a heartbeat!
Had an amazing stay at the Casita. Such a cool vibe and the location could not be beat. The quiet streets and green space offer a sense of home and offer the visitor some insight into the local culture. I slept great in Sharon's comfortable and inviting Casita, which is located perfectly for those who prefer to spend their downtown away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Sharon is a delight and went way out of her way to ensure that I had all the comforts of home. Can't wait to get my hands on another cold Alamo Golden Ale! Thanks.
Sharon's place is well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, centrally located, but with enough distance from the tourist trappings of San Antonio. Sharon was a responsive and kind host.
This was my first Airbnb stay and it was delightful. The room looks just as shown and is comfortable-the bathroom is large and modern. I was alone for the first 2 days-Sharon was an efficient and solicitous hostess and made sure that I could contact her as needed (I am familiar with SA and didn't need a lot of referrals, directions, etc). I loved being able to sit outside on her shady patios and look forward to returning and enjoying her koi pond! When my husband joined me, he took immediate advantage of the bicycle and the bike trail map provided by Sharon. I'm a walker and birder and did both in the neighborhood, which is very walkable.
Upon arriving we walk in and found Sharon has thought about making her guest comfortable.
She had stocked the frig from water to spirits. Italian roasted coffee/half and half to meddle & thread.
The most important thing for us when traveling is how the bed sleeps. Perfect!
We will be back.
This was our first getaway after having our daughter a few months ago and our first experience with Airbnb - and we were well taken care, impressed, and left very rested! We wholeheartedly agree with other reviews - Sharon has thought of it all and is a great host. Very fun, quaint casita in a neighborhood downtown without the busy downtown feel. My wife said several times how "local" we felt staying there. Thanks, Sharon! And we can't wait to visit again!
We really enjoyed our time at Sharon's casita. San Antonio was a great place to visit and we would have no hesitation recommending a stay with Sharon.
