The space
Our farm was built in 1740 and features a stocked pond with dock, beautiful landscaping and small Williamsburg style garden--- great for photos or just relaxing and reading a book. We have 25 acres and views in all directions. The farm is comprised of two barns, one stone barn and one poplar barn that are respectively Loudoun’s oldest stone barn and Loudoun’s largest barn. There is a manor house, where we live full time and two cottages on our land —one is the Hunt Box (sleeps 2) and one is the Williamsburg cottage (sleeps 10). Our guests are free to visit our animals (Clydesdales, one pig, two cows) and enjoy hiking the land (woods, creek, fields) and also enjoy the landscaped formal gardens and orchards. We are close to vineyards, the old town of Purcellville, the Quaker village of Lincoln and Lavender Hill Farm.

Guest access
You are free to explore the fields, creek, woods, garden and pond. Toss out a blanket and have a picnic, read a book on the lawns, hike the property, pick apples, feed the horses & pig & chickens, paint a scene or just chill on the porch and watch the corn pop up in rows. There is usually some fun activity to watch or join in from planting trees to feeding animals & mucking stalls or enjoy Loudoun County agritourism activities (wineries and brewery’s galore) Farms for kids to apple and pumpkin pick. Visit the Philemon General Store and Bllooming Hill Lavender farm just down the dirt road. Enjoy a camp fire (we’ve got it all ready for you) in the evening. Learn about heritage breed animals or just ejuvenate with solid night’s sleep under some pretty amazing stars. We are happy to provide a tour of the Barns and give you the update on saving the 280year old Quaker farm from being bulldozed for development—your stay is helping us to continue these preservation efforts. Come on! Unplug and get yourself to the Country.

Other things to note
We have a little pond (stocked) next to our Quaker stone barn and 25 acres to romp around and enjoy our heritage breed farm animals including Clydesdales, and rare Devon milking cows. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Animal paddocks and pens should not be entered by guests and instructions on interacting with the animals should be followed closely. We do not permit guests to ride our horses but other farms in the area do offer horseback riding, boarding and training.

We live in Quaker Hamlet nestled among other old farms. We are a few miles from Harris Teeter Grocery store, restaurants, antique stores and pharmacy and a short distance from lots of vineyards and breweries and other farms that often host events (pumpkin patches, apple picking, weddings, etc). The trail head of the Appalachian trail is a few miles away as is the Shenandoah River. Our 25 acre farm is bordered by another 50 acre farm that grows corn and soybeans so you have the feeling of being far in the countryside even though you are just 44 miles from Washington, DC and 4 miles to town.

Farm to Table is our passion. We love to ride horses, garden and travel but spend most weekends weeding and farming.
