In the heart of Barranco! Few steps from the pubs, discos and "posadas" where you can enjoy the nightlife in Lima with its characteristic restaurants and the great street food

The Space

Second floor of a 7 yo building - quiet double bedroom with its private bathroom and jacuzzi - free use of the kitchen

Guest Access

We will meet in front of the building for an easy check-in

Interaction with Guests

This apartment is shared with my cousin Giuliana who has her own bedroom and her own bathroom

The Neighborhood

Barranco is the most characteristic district in Lima with its colonial bohemian buildings of the beginning of the past century. Few meters away the ocean is there for you.
This district is best known for its typical restaurants and "posadas" where you can eat with little money listening to live music

  • Stayed for two nights. Although the host's aunt was kind and check-in was smooth, we ended up having a bad stay.

The hot water wasn't working (even after switching it "on" and waiting for 90 minutes) so we were forced to shower cold. We tried contacting the host's aunt and never heard back, either by phone or e-mail. We also had problems on check-out, and again was unable to get ahold of the local contact.

When we expressed concerns later, Cesar said we should have e-mailed him directly. We sent a couple e-mails back and forth, but then he said he had to go because it was time for him to sleep because of the time difference.

All our problems required immediate assistance - it's great that he was responsive by e-mail (when the times synced up), but a remote landlord on a time difference wasn't enough for us.

Your situation may be different, but this definitely didn't work for us. I'm loathe to leave a bad review, but that was our experience here. It seems like others didn't run into as many issues, but we recommend some caution if you think things might not go 100% smoothly.

    Response from Cesar Gerardo:

Hi Michael, what sounds strange to me is why you did not report the water problem to me (I could have it fixed in 15 minutes) or to my cousin Giuly who was living in the bedroom next to yours - You had my mobile number, my cousin's number and my aunt's number - if you cannot reach my aunt I can assure you my mobile is on 24/24 - moreover, as you can see, I reply within few hours - why did you never send a message to me in 2 days?? It is quite surprising you are the only one who had communications issues with me; probably because you used just 1 channel instead of three I provide you?

  • This is a very clean and comfortable apartment in a nice location. There is a security gate before entering the building and the area feels safe. There are lots of places to eat and dance nearby and young tourists and locals stay out late hanging out with friends. Juliana is so kind and shares the apartment but usually the apartment is empty. The wifi is great! And the official host- Cesar- is very quick with replies to any question. Barranco is a very charming place, especially the square a few blocks away with cobblestone streets. This was a good introduction to Lima. Thanks, Cesar!

  • This was the second time we stayed in this apartment. It is in a really good location between Barranco where all the restaurants are and Miraflores. 5 soles in taxi to go anywhere. The place is modern and spacious. We mostly had the place to ourselves but if someone was home it's always easy to have your privacy. Highly recommended!!

  • The place is very centrally located in Barranco within easy reach of Minaflores. Modern unit with everything you need for longer stays. Although we did not get to meet Cesar in person his family has been very helpful with the checkin and checkout. We already booked to stay here again.

  • Nice place to stay, good communication.
Only a safe 8min walk from all barranco's restaurants, bars...
Barranco is the place to stay in Lima!

    Thanks,
    Fred.

  • My wife and I stayed there for two weeks---GREAT! In a great location, clean, and vibrant. The night life is really good if you know where to go. Brewhouse is a 10 min walk, as well as many bars around the main park in Barranco. There is a place called Sargento Primivera (maybe spelling it wrong), but that is a three minute walk away and it's really good, especially on the weekends. (on the street next to train tracks) The grocery is a couple min walk away, it's called Metro. Actually two locations both in walking distance --- the one by the park is better. You can also walk down to the beach and have dinner at the restaurants on the beach---the sunsets are stunning. It will take you about 15 mins to walk there.

Other than that, the place is very comfortable and the host's cousin Guily is a great person who will help you out even if you check in at 3am as we did. She only speaks spanish so we communicated with (website hidden) Translate.

Cesar had great communication---he wasn't there but checked in with us via email frequently and made sure everything was fine. We are in Cusco now and will definitely book this place on our way back.

    Enjoy Peru!
