Location:
Within 2.5 hours of Dublin and 40 minutes from Galway City, Suaimhneas is perfectly located to explore the beauty and history of the Burren and the Co. Clare, Co. Galway area. Although there is public transport links from Galway and Dublin we would highly recommend using a car to get the most out of your break in the Burren.

Anout the Area:
The Burren covers 1% of the land surface of Ireland and is approximately 250 square kilometres in size. Most of the Burren is designated a Special Area of Conservation to protect this extremely unusual habitat. The Burren National Park is located in the south-eastern corner of the Burren and is approximately 1500 hectares in size. The Park land was bought by the Government for nature conservation and public access. It contains examples of all the major habitats within the Burren: Limestone Pavement, Calcareous grassland, Hazel scrub, Ash/hazel woodland, Turloughs, Lakes, Petrifying springs, cliffs and Fen.

Some of the other features of the area are The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top Visitor attractions and are a designated UNESCO Geo Park. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometres over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare.

The three Aran Islands, Inis Mór Island (Big Island), Inis Meáin Island (Middle island) and Inis Oírr Island (East island) are situated in a north westerly, south easterly direction at the mouth of Galway Bay, Ireland. They are famous for their geological formation, historical monuments and their linguistic and cultural heritage. The Irish(Gaelic) language is still spoken here and in the twenty first century all native born islanders are bilingual in both Irish and English.

The area around Suaimhneas is excellent for hiking in the hills of the Burren and horse riding. Also located a 45 minute drive away is the one of Ireland's best known surfing locations Lahinch Beach and the much quieter and less well known Fanore Beach.

Enid's place is nothing short of stellar. Had been driving and travelling a lot in and around Ireland and the one night at her place was enough to recharge me. It was exceptionally comfortable, clean, really, there couldn't be a better place to stay anywhere between cork to Galway. Thanks Enid!

Enid is very friendly & had a lovely breakfast spread ready for me each morning, with her homemade scones, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, and tea. The room was comfortable & shower was hot. My only issue was that the wifi wasn't working while I was there, but I think it's supposed to be fixed soon. Enid recommended a cafe in Kinvara that had good wifi for me to use during the day. She also gave me advice on walks in The Burren and recommended a restaurant to eat at on my drive up to Letterkenny.

Enid User ProfileEnid is a superhost.

Enid is a Complementary Health Therapist/Tutor/English Language Teacher.

I relocated to South Galway to start life afresh in a most beautiful enriching landscape. I have therapy rooms in my house that I work from and I teach Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Diet/Nutrition in Gort and I also teach English Language Classes in Ennis Co Clare. I love heading out into the Burren to climb the mountains especially in the spring when the wild flowers and fauna are abundant in this spectacular landscape. I love to entertain my friends and family at home, we have many evenings where great food and wine are shared with some scintillating conversation and great Irish humour. I love to meet new people and hear their stories, traditions and experiences from around the world. My home is a happy care-free home where friends and family want to come to relax and unwind and to re-energise.

I look forward to meeting with you.
