Location:
Within 2.5 hours of Dublin and 40 minutes from Galway City, Suaimhneas is perfectly located to explore the beauty and history of the Burren and the Co. Clare, Co. Galway area. Although there is public transport links from Galway and Dublin we would highly recommend using a car to get the most out of your break in the Burren.

Anout the Area:
The Burren covers 1% of the land surface of Ireland and is approximately 250 square kilometres in size. Most of the Burren is designated a Special Area of Conservation to protect this extremely unusual habitat. The Burren National Park is located in the south-eastern corner of the Burren and is approximately 1500 hectares in size. The Park land was bought by the Government for nature conservation and public access. It contains examples of all the major habitats within the Burren: Limestone Pavement, Calcareous grassland, Hazel scrub, Ash/hazel woodland, Turloughs, Lakes, Petrifying springs, cliffs and Fen.

Some of the other features of the area are The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top Visitor attractions and are a designated UNESCO Geo Park. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometres over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare.

The three Aran Islands, Inis Mór Island (Big Island), Inis Meáin Island (Middle island) and Inis Oírr Island (East island) are situated in a north westerly, south easterly direction at the mouth of Galway Bay, Ireland. They are famous for their geological formation, historical monuments and their linguistic and cultural heritage. The Irish(Gaelic) language is still spoken here and in the twenty first century all native born islanders are bilingual in both Irish and English.

  • We had a wonderful time in Enid's home. The house is very beautiful and confortable, close to many places to visit, and she made of us an amazing and healthy breakfast. She is a very good host and I highly recommend staying with her!

  • Enid was so fun to meet and I loved staying at her airbnb. She was a wonderful host and the place was beautiful! I wished I could have stayed there for another couple of days it was so great. Location is super nice because it's close to Galway and the cliffs of Moher - lots to do close by!

  • Enid is fantastic! We felt at home immediately and could have chatted all night. Enid went "above and beyond" with fresh baked scones and banana bread! Delicious! Room is beautiful and everything is spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back again. Thanks once again for everything Enid!!

  • Enid is a terrific host. She is warm, cheerful, positive, energetic, generous and has great personality. Besides, she is a creative great cook! She offered to share dinner on the first cold evening of my arrival, left me a fire in the fireplace and always reminded me to feel like home and conjured up delicious new breakfast every morning. The house itself is very spacious and tastefully decorated. There is a separate guest bathroom which is more than a guest can ask for. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bed is good. The region is quiet, beautiful rural region. 5 minutes from Gort City. (There is a good launderette in Gort) 40 minutes to Galway. I would say I definitely love to stay here more than in bustling Galway. The Burren is absolutely breathtaking beautiful. Enid's suggestion to drive the Western coastal route was the best. She is full of information, suggestions and recommendations. It is best advised to visit the area in at least 7 days. Unfortunately, I only stayed for 3 nights and it was simply not enough.

  • This is a very comfortable room in a large house, with full access to the bathroom, kitchen and living areas. Enid is a delightful and generous host, who provided a terrific breakfast and helpful advice. It is in a lovely, quiet area outside a village. My only warning is to ensure that you have full instructions as to which house it is before you arrive in town.

  • Our stay with Enid was absolutely wonderful! She was so kind and helpful, and her home was truly lovely. Breakfast was excellent as well. It was a very comfortable experience, and we would definitely stay there again.

  • I had an unbelievable stay with Enid at your beautiful home outside of Gort. The room was perfect with a huge bed, storage, and a view into the country side behind. The house was only a few minutes outside Gort which was filled with shops, pubs, and dining. The home was amazing, but that is not what sets her home apart from others, its Enid. She made my trip to Ireland special. She organized and laid out my days in Galway County. She set me up with highlighted maps, secret spots, and even helped my plan my Southern Ireland journey. Enid is a warm and caring person and if you are lucky to get to travel to Galway Co. you must try to stay with Enid at her country home.

About
Enid is a Complementary Health Therapist/Tutor/English Language Teacher. I relocated to South Galway to start life afresh in a most beautiful enriching landscape. I have therapy rooms in my house that I work from and I teach Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Diet/Nutrition in Gort and I also teach English Language Classes in Ennis Co Clare. I love heading out into the Burren to climb the mountains especially in the spring when the wild flowers and fauna are abundant in this spectacular landscape. I love to entertain my friends and family at home, we have many evenings where great food and wine are shared with some scintillating conversation and great Irish humour. I love to meet new people and hear their stories, traditions and experiences from around the world. My home is a happy care-free home where friends and family want to come to relax and unwind and to re-energise. I look forward to meeting with you.
