Thank you for leaving the house as you found it.
Our stay in Barbara's home was excellent! The house was very clean and had everything we could possibly need. Five of us fit very comfortably in the home. It was so much nicer than spending a week in a hotel! Barbara was quick to respond to any questions we had and had great recommendations for places to eat around town. I would recommend her home to anyone interested in visiting Anchorage!
The house was nice, clean, and prepared for new guests. Barbara communicated when necessary but otherwise left us alone (a plus in my opinion). Granola bars on the counter were a nice touch.
Barbara's house was a great house to stay in and made our time in Anchorage very comfortable. The house is fully equipped with everything we needed and she left us with special treats which we all fully enjoyed. Most important was how clean it was. Thank you Barbara for making my first experience renting from airbnb so positive.
We had a wonderful stay at this accommodating home. We had everything we needed and more. It didn't feel like a rental, but more like staying in the home of a good friend. Barbara was great and checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Anchorage is a beautiful place, and having such a great place to stay made it that much better. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
From the start, Barbara was so helpful and responded within hours, sometimes minutes, to any of my questions. She even provided lots of details of places to go and things to do, most of which we took her up on.
After a disastrous experience with our airline including massive delays and lost luggage, it was a breath of fresh air to walk into Barbara's immaculate house. We spent 10 nights & 11 days and rented the entire house and felt as though we were in our own home. We lacked toiletries the first few days (thanks to United) and she graciously had items to share. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome basket of fresh fruit, cookies and granola bars; not to mention champagne in the fridge. Although we don't drink, it was a nice gift for the wedding party we were a part of.
When traveling, it's always hard to eat healthier/homemade meals but her fantastic, gourmet kitchen was by far, a huge plus. We made almost every meal at home and was even able to host a dinner for the wedding party. Everything about our stay was spectacular. Abundant sunlight, comfortable bed, amazing kitchen and of course, a car helped a ton for all of our day trips.
As some reviews have mentioned, there isn't a TV, but really, who needs one? You're in Alaska, enjoy the outdoors and if you want to catch the news, there's an app for that. Or bring a laptop, wifi is readily available.
The ONLY thing that was more of an annoyance and in no way Barbara's fault was the early morning planes. Being close to the airport was a convenience, however, I'm a painfully light sleeper so every time a plane landed or took off, I woke up. The larger planes were fine but it was the smaller, Cessna planes that did me in.
But overall, what a fabulous experience and amazing host. You won't be disappointed if you stay. Our trip to Alaska was wonderful largely because of our amazing accommodations.
Barbara was a great host! She gave great recommendations about what to see and do during our stay there. The house is in a great location, less than 5 minutes away from the airport and downtown Anchorage. The beds are very comfortable, and the blinds in the rooms keep the Alaskan summer sun out. One thing some people may dislike is that there is no TV in the house, but that didn't matter to me since I didn't come to Alaska to watch TV. The internet at the house is very fast and worked well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Anchorage.
