A historic villa, consisting of 4 independent apartments, plus a small villa, different from each other in type and number of beds, all with great attention to detail. Escher is located on the second floor and is also accessible by elevator; it has 2 bedrooms for a total of 4 beds, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a garden and terrace overlooking the sea

The space
Interior: 113 sqm garden: 87 sqm balcony: 30 sqm
Air conditioning, wireless internet connection, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine

It stands out on the western profile of the town, along the road to Positano, immediately after the luxurious Hotel Santa Caterina, in a privileged position, still a regular stop for tourists for the splendid panorama.
It is located about 500 meters from the access to the beautiful beach of Duoglio (Lido degli Artisti), which can be reached through a spectacular descent into the Mediterranean maquis or by boat from the Port, 10/15 minutes on foot from the Villa.
It is equipped with all the comforts without losing the elegant character of an aristocratic residence, starting from the fascinating access cave to the modern elevator.
It is also possible to reach the apartment without the elevator and via about 30 steps
The large interior spaces and the suggestive panoramic views of the apartments can be enjoyed in all seasons, when you rest on your return from nearby excursions (Emerald Grotto, Ravello, Positano, Capri, Paestum, etc.), from visiting the cities of art of Naples and Salerno, as well as from the numerous events offered by the entire Amalfi Coast.

It is accessed by two entrances: the first facing the street with access to the elevator for a comfortable arrival, the second at the end of the last terrace that opens onto a pedestrian street
The property is arranged on four floors with a total of 4 apartments for rent, while on the top floor there is the owners' house occupied at certain times of the year.
Outside the building, through the gardens, you reach another property called Casa Dipinta; the houses, which differ in type and number of beds, are all very well cared for in detail and have a sea view.

Casa Esher is a beautiful house located on the second floor of the building and is elegantly furnished in shades of blue, with refined blue and white star tiles based on an 18th-century design. On the walls are drawings by Escher, a painter who loved the Amalfi Coast.

The apartment consists of:
- a lovely living room with an antique fireplace,
-a double bedroom with a panoramic balcony and access to the garden
- a bedroom with a double bed (on request with 2 separate beds) with a panoramic balcony
- dining room with elegant matching kitchen, with French window to the hanging garden,
- two comfortable bathrooms, one with a bathtub,
- two outdoor spaces, one with a dining table and conversation area on a garden--breathtaking terrace adjacent to the garden that is used by guests of the Klimt apartment
A few kilometers from the property there is a beautiful public swimming pool and payment is to be made directly at the entrance. Free shuttle service and beach towels. For more information, please contact us.

The apartment is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Infants up to 8 months can be accommodated.

A LITTLE HISTORY:
A historic villa in Amalfi that was already documented in 1867 (Volume Costa delle Sirene).
Known by the Amalfi people as the "Palazzo", it was purchased in 1943 by the Marquis Francesco Mottola di Amato and was then structured by the heirs, who were careful not to change the characteristic of an aristocratic residence of the late 1800s, thus preserving the authentic architectural beauty, the airiness of the rooms, and the delight of the senses of the garden.
In 2004, it was declared a "monument of national interest" by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

Distances: Amalfi 1Km; Atrani 1.5Km; Conca dei Marini 3Km; Furore 8Km; Praiano 9Km; Positano 17Km; Sorrento 32Km; Ravello 7Km; Minori 5Km; Maiori 6Km; Salerno and railway station 26Km; Naples airport 70Km.

Other things to note
Every four years, from May to July, Amalfi hosts the Historical Regatta of the Maritime Republics, which also involves Pisa, Venice and Genoa, the cities that for centuries have competed for supremacy over the Mediterranean. The regatta takes place on galleons with 8 rowers, rebuilt on 12th-century models and is preceded by a procession of figures in historical costume.
In Amalfi, the competition starts from Capo di Vettica and arrives in front of the Marina Grande, with a route of about 2,000 meters.
The four boats, 11 m long and weighing 760 kg, are driven by 8 rowers with a fixed seat and a helmsman who stands in the sterncastle, adorned with the flag of each Republic
The event, which takes place on the first Sunday of June, is divided into two very important and complementary moments, opening the majestic Historical Parade and following the Galleon Regatta

The Historical Parade consists of about four hundred figures wearing precious medieval costumes, faithfully reproduced from ancient models.
Each group evokes and interprets a specific historical episode and the main characters linked to the history and glories of their city, in a splendid choreographic context of banners, trumpets, drums and weapons

Neighborhood highlights

“The day of judgment for the Amalfi people who go to heaven will be a day like any other”(Forges).
Amalfi is an earthly paradise. Panoramas colored by the precious chromatic shades that return from the sea to the rocks. Legend has it that its name comes from the nymph Amalfi, loved by Hercules. The hero, after his death, buried her in the place he considered the most beautiful in the world and from which the pearl of the coast was born.
Historically the city of Amalfi owes its name to its founders, Roman settlers from the village of Melphi.
During the Byzantine period it became the first Maritime Republic Its history of Maritime Republic is renewed every year, from June to August, with the Historical Regatta. The regatta is a race between galleons reconstructed on 12th century models reminiscent of the colours of the Maritime Republics (Venice, Pisa, Genoa, Amalfi). Its past as an ancient maritime republic is also remembered by the Tabula Amalphitana, a maritime trade code in force in the Mediterranean until the sixteenth century. In Amalfi you can visit and admire: The cathedral whose construction dates back to 987 and in 1700 its appearance of Romanesque style was transformed into Baroque style, the cloister of Paradise located right next to the Cathedral dating back to 1200 with frescoes of the Giottesque school of Romanesque-Arab style, the museum of the Church of the "Crucifix" a large complex whose construction dates back to the ninth century in which you can admire the "Treasure of the Church", finally there is the paper museum of 1300.
Amalfi is not only history and art. It is also a landscape masterpiece, a pearl that at dusk is accessed by the glow of the sun that sets, off the sea, while from the ground the bougainvillea hedges respond, started by the characteristic red goblet flowers. Pearl of the Mediterranean, mirror of millenary historical tradition, unique in its natural beauty, Amalfi certainly enchants the heart. Those who are lucky enough to visit it on June 27 and November 30, also have the opportunity to participate cheerfully, together with the community, in the feast dedicated to the patron saint Andrea, protector of fishermen.
