The Space

Our Children have grown and the rooms are empty. We love sharing our home with airbnb guests. Stay in Martin's room overlooking the field and pond with a private porch/balcony and sleeps 4 ( large comfortable Queen bed and a double fouton). This room has it's own private bathroom with shower.
You may also use our large spacious kitchen for your meals and relax in the living room or kitchen watching your favorite TV program.
Also enjoy all our 9+acres offers; pond with swimming, fishing and boating (canoe, flat bottom boat and kayak), volleyball, full basketball court, 2 pickleball courts and horseshoes.
And be sure to explore the Hudson Valley: Hike Mt Beacon, or vist the DIA Museum, Walk the Rail Trail or over the Hudson River on the Walkway Over The Hudson. Visit Historic Hyde Park and the Roosevelt Mansion. Have an exquiste lunch or dinner at The Culinary Institue of America...

  • Such a relaxing stay... Decided to do a very last-minute escape from the city. The "large room" at Maggie's was by FAR the best thing available in the area. The booking and communication was so easy - Maggie approved my reservation within the hour and we were in touch by text to firm up details - she is very flexible about everything. The house is impeccably clean and well-landscaped. She rents several rooms and I enjoyed meeting other guests. This area of the Hudson Valley is really fun -- Beacon right nearby (art, food, hipsters); Storm King art center (breathtaking sculpture park); wineries and distilleries; Cold Spring for great antiquing... and so forth.

  • Maggie and Marty were fantastic hosts. Very accommodating and easy going. They have a lovely house and the place is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway or longer. Would recommend to other hosts!

  • Maggie & Marty's Hudson Valley Farmhouse is an oasis in an already beautiful setting! The house has all the amenities one could ask for in an authentic "farmhouse" atmosphere, and the property is stunning. I spent most of my time in the Large Room, which was like having my own suite on a private estate! The posted picture is accurate but doesn't show the spectacular views from the balcony. Every morning I awakened to the site of a gorgeous pine tree swaying in the breeze, a large pond in the near distance with mountains behind it, and an authentic barn in the background. On a night with a full moon, I could see the moon reflecting off the pond without leaving my bed!

This is a destination for all seasons, and a place not to be missed if one is coming to visit the Hudson Valley for any reason. I had the pleasure of being here in the winter and the spring, and can even recommend it as a winter retreat. The snow was heavy this year (as it was everywhere in the Northeast), but it made the scene ever more charming. And Maggie & Marty were so warm and welcome when I arrived on January 1st…they had a fire going in the fireplace, and made me feel at home instantly.

The spring has been just as special, and the grounds are starting to come alive. I now know there is a fire pit in the back near the pond, and in the late spring and summer/fall seasons, there is swimming and other fun outdoor activities. I adore it (and the hosts) so much that I am already planning a return trip for just a month from now and one in the fall, and I am sure I will become a "regular" here.

Part of the charm is also Maggie & Marty's unique hospitality . They have a way of making the guests feel "at home" while granting as much privacy as one wants. The kitchen is shared, with full kitchen privileges, and I was even given my own ample space in a refrigerator/freezer. There were other guests at the same time who had the same privileges. We were never in each other's way, and there was space for all of us. If we wanted to interact with each other (and most were friendly and did), that was fine. Those of us who wanted our own space, also had it without any problem. In fact, I have made friends here who I will keep in touch with. Maggie has a way of bringing people together as only a person with a true "hostess" gift can.

I came here because I had a work contract in the area and did not want to live in an extended stay hotel. Maggie & Marty's Farmhouse was much better than I could ever have imagined and I have been so happy. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and look forward to more good times here.

  • This was a great place to stay, we were only there for a very short time, but the beds were very comfortable, close to good resturants and the house was perfect for what we were looking for. The communication with Maggie was fast and clear, and they were flexible as we had to change plans a few times. Thank you!

  • Two of my girlfriends and I stayed overnight in the large room, it was absolutely perfect for us. Maggie and Marty's home is so comfortable and the property is beautiful. I even got to entertain my friends by playing some piano for them :). We definitely would love to return for a long weekend some time soon. The experience couldn't have been better.

  • Maggie and Marty are amazing hosts!

They offer not only their beautiful farmhouse but also their warmth and perspective. I have been using Airbnb for two years and it is the first time that I felt at home. Maggie makes you feel part of the family and she is always very helpful. The rooms were cozy and play on her property is truly an experience. I would recommend the accommodation and hosts to anyone who is looking to relax, share, and enjoy the experience.

  • My bf, pup and I stayed in "the Large room", with the balcony overlooking the pond, and we really enjoyed our stay! The room was quite large, and it felt almost like we had our own private loft. Everything was so comfy and peaceful and the property is beautiful. My dog also had so much fun running around! I would definitely recommend. Thanks Maggie and Marty!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely room for one night. Although we unfortunately never crossed paths with Maggie (we got in late and then left early the next morning) the accommodations were just what we were looking for! I booked this trip the same day we left and Maggie was more than willing to give us a peaceful nights rest in her home. The property is lovely, the room is spacious and the bathroom is clean and stocked with shampoo and conditioner in case you forgot yours! The balcony off of the bedroom overlooks a pond and their barn which is was so serene to wake up to. The only down side is that there are no curtains on the windows or the door leading out to the balcony so for those who are light sleepers, this may be an issue.

Communication was through text, (though I'm sure if we had been there at the same time we would have had a lovely conversation in person!) but Maggie gave us all the information we needed to check in and out quickly and easily.

All in all this was exactly what we were looking for in an airbnb residence and I'd stay again if the opportunity arose.

  • The large room in HudsonValley Farmhouse was beautiful. It is actually more lovely than the photo shows it to be. Nice kitchen, also, to cook in - nice den in which to watch TV. Marty and Maggie are fine hosts. Very close to great visiting spots in the Hudson River Valley. The room also has a terrific view of the pond and a barn.
