We are so excited to present The Klickitat Treehouse to you!

We've built this 500 square foot alpine modern treehouse fully supported by three Douglas Fir Trees. It sits twenty feet above the ground at its highest point, providing sweeping views of Mount Adams. Enjoy all the Columbia River Gorge has to offer and sleep in the canopy of the forest.

The space
***For any bookings April through October a fire ban will be in effect. We have a zero tolerance for open flames of any kind on the property during the that time. This is inclusive of a ban on indoor wood-burning stove fires.***

Inspired by a mountain lifestyle and Scandinavian architecture encompassing simplicity, functionality, and comfort, we've curated a surrounding of clean lines, neutral palettes, and natural light. Floor to ceiling windows and skylights offer breathtaking views of the surrounding forest, the valley, and Mount Adams. Natural materials add warmth, beauty, and texture to the every day experience of brewing a cup of coffee or playing a game with loved ones. Equipped with heating, AC, indoor & outdoor showers, kitchen, and private fire pit. Cozy up with blankets and pillows in the living room during the winter, or slide open the glass doors to the Mount Adam's view deck and bring the outside in during the summer.

To sleep up to a total of 8 people, you can rent our Cedar Shack Tiny House in addition to the Treehouse. It is a cozy tiny cabin ~250 ft from the Treehouse with a lofted queen bed. Ask us about it and we can send you the link!

Guest access
LIVING ROOM
With an 18 ft wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, Mount Adams becomes the focal point of the space. Leather couch, coffee table, books & games, floor cushions and blankets.

DECK
Sliding glass doors open off the living room onto the deck. Grill out on the propane grill, serve group meals around the patio table, and relax in the adirondack chairs.

KITCHEN
Everything you need to cook with a full oven and stove-top and Cafe appliance mini-fridge. The Klickitat Treehouse is stocked with pots + pans, tea kettle, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, flat wear, serving bowls + utensils, mixing bowls, baking sheets, pie pan, French press coffee maker, coffee grinder, chefs' knives, cutting boards, cork screw, can opener, potato peeler, and kitchen shears. We also provide our guests with complimentary organic black tea, organic green tea, organic free trade coffee, organic olive oil, and salt + pepper grinders. For dish washing, a new sponge is provided for each reservation and a dish rack is kept under the sink. Please note there is no freezer or microwave and the oven is slightly smaller than standard ovens.

BEDROOM
The private bedroom provides a queen bed, big windows, and a private door to the deck. Double pocket doors open up to the living room.

*We proudly provide Stumptown mattresses with Buffy cloud comforters + pillows, and Parachute linen duvet covers for all of our beds.

LOFT
Two queen beds, each positioned below a sky light, so you can gaze up at the Douglas Firs that generously hold up the treehouse. The loft is open to the living room and kitchen below, facing the 18 ft wall over the railing for views of Mount Adams.
*Please ensure that the loft ladder is pulled out completely (it moves!) into the diagonal position before ascending or descending from the loft.

FULL BATHROOM
Sink, toilet, and mud-set shower off of the main living area. Plush Pendleton towels, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided.
*We are on a septic system - flush only toilet paper.

WOOD-BURNING STOVE *Burn ban in as of April 2021 affect*
The treehouse has efficient electric heating and cooling but we have included a wood-burning stove in the design for emergency purposes; when there is a power outage to keep the space warm and the pipes from freezing. From November through May, you may decide to partake in the novelty of the wood-burning stove if you have experience building fires from scratch. We are not able to provide small wood for fitting in this small stove or kindling. We do provide fire wood and a hatchet so that you can cut wood down if you choose partake in this activity.
*Wood-burning stove use is allowed November - March. Fire bans start in April and last through October.

OUTDOOR SHOWER *Closed for the season November - March*
Take a hot shower on the treehouse deck while looking up at the trees - it doesn't get any better than that. Castile soap provided.
*The outdoor shower is available for use April - October and is shut-off from November - March due to freezing temperatures.

PRIVATE FIRE PIT *Burn ban in as of April 2021 affect*
Walk across the bridge and down the steps to your own private fire pit. Stainless steel pints are provided for fireside sipping. Roast some s'mores and enjoy the stars. Fire bans in Klickitat County typically start in June and last through October. It is your responsibility to adhere to all fire bans. There is a water spigot and hose adjacent to the fire pit.
*Fire pit use is allowed November - March. Fire bans start in April and last through October.

MOUNTAIN VIEW BENCH + TRAILS
Explore the surrounding forest! We are on 15 acres with two adjacent sides of the property backing up to hundreds of acres of logging land. Old logging roads wind little trails through the woods and along the ridge for mountain views. The bench and trails are shared with our Cedar Shack Tiny House guests.

THE WELL HOUSE
The Well House is located near the treehouse guest parking and serves as the bathroom for the Cedar Shack Tiny House guests. The Cedar Shack is typically occupied and the Well House in use by those guests. We appreciate respect for their privacy during your stay.

PARKING
Up to two vehicles may be parked in the parking space in front of the treehouse.

Other things to note
Our location does not have infrastructure for wifi at this time - use this getaway to reconnect with yourself, each other, and the natural world!

Cell service is limited on the property; most people have no service inside the treehouse and may get 1-2 bars extended in other areas of the property depending on your provider. This typically allows for calls and texts, but no data. You can get full service and data if you drive out to the main road.

Burn bans start in April and last through October. During the bans, there is no use of outdoor fire pits, indoor wood-burning stoves, any type of open flame, fireworks, or smoking of any kind aloud on the property.

The water comes from our personal well and is potable.

We love creating beautiful, comfortable, and inviting spaces for people to experience, explore, and find solitude. We obsess the architecture and remodeling of both new and old structures and finish them with natural, cozy, and modern interiors inspired by our home of the Pacific Northwest coupled with influences from the years we spent in the deserts of the Southwest.
