The Space

Cosy and light apartment on the 2nd floor of a monumental building, built in 1885 (!), in the very populair neighbourhood 'De Pijp'. This neighbourhood is known for the vividness of it, and almost feels like a little village inside the city. The Albert Cuyp market is the most famous day market in Amsterdam. It will take about five minutes by foot to get to the center of Amsterdam. You will also be able to take the tram, stops are only a three minutes walk from the apartment. De Pijp is also known for it's shops, bars and muliticultural restaurants. The Sarphatipark and the Vondelpark are just around the corner. You will make it to the highway (A1, A2 and Ring A10) in just a couple of minutes.

The apartment is located on the second floor of a monumental building. The entrance leads to a large livingroom with big windows; showing a beautiful view on the street market. In the living room, you will find a large sofa bed. Next to the living room, you will find the bedroom, with a large double bed. We also offer 2 extra airbeds. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a micro wave, fridge, dish washer, washing machine and coffee machine. The apt has a bathroom with a toilet and shower. We provide bed linen and towels.

Check In
  • We stayed for four nights. We did not meet Alisa but dealt with her friend. He was very helpful and friendly! The location is great! Easy to get everywhere and cool restaurants In the area. The market on the street is very cool, although it is noisy in the morning when setting up.

The apartment itself was a huge disappointment. The living space was nice and comfortable but the kitchen and bathroom were horrible! We had to re wash all the utensils and crockery in the kitchen and the microwave hadn't been cleaned in a very long time! The bathroom was even worse! We wore thongs in the shower it was that bad!
On our final night we stayed up listening to a rat chew it's way through the oven!

The photos posted are nothing like the apartment.

If you don't mind an unclean space book it, if not find a hotel.

  • Perfect apartment for what we wanted from the weekend. Amazing location, the market on your front door and everything you needed/wanted to see was only 5/10 minutes away. Really great light in the apartment too, nice to wake up to in the morning. Enjoy!

  • Warm, well equipped, quiet apartment located in one of the most vibrant areas of Amsterdam. As others have commented, the stairs leading to the apartment are narrow but that's normal for Amsterdam. It has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The bedroom and living areas are large. Looking out over the market, it was a brilliant location for watching the world go by. The service Alisa provides both before and during your stay is brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you :)

  • The apartment was central, quite close to anywhere. 5 minutes of walking distance to bus and tram stations and 15 minutes of walking distance to museumplein, where most of the main museums are. Check-in was okey. Not Alisa but a dear friend of her, Tuur, helped us. He was there when we arrived.
There were some cans of beer and other beverages in the fridge, I am not sure about the owner, maybe Alisa maybe the previous guest. But they were there:)
Heating was a problem at first but when we notified Alisa, the problem was solved in the same day.
Now the bad part of the story... There was a "cute" mouse in the house (we actually saw it) which wandered around for the food left by the previous guests (and not been taken away by Alisa or Tuur or anyone else). I had to pull the couch aside to find where the mouse went. And it was then when I saw the dirt under and behind the couch. Generally, the house was the dirtiest of all the airbnb houses (this was the 6th) that we have stayed in so far.
The floor and the ceiling are made of wood. So if there is anyone staying upstairs you will definatly know where he/she is:) The best thing about the apt is the price and location. Anyway, thanks for everything...

  • Appartement bien situé. Calme. Voisin très serviable! Très pratique d'avoir le marché tous les jours juste devant l'appartement!

  • A party of two, we've stayed at Alisa at two of her apartments for over a week. Both apartments were very pleasant to stay in, they were well stocked and in great locations. Alisa and Piet are lovely people and they were very helpful.

  • We (me and my two daughters) had three lovely days in Amsterdam. As the wether was nice for End of October we were realy lucky.
As well as some others we haven't seen Alisa. But we kept in touch by mail. The guy above her appartment checked us in.
    My girls loved the market.
We wanted to rent the bikes but they were broken. So we rent some near the tram station for 10 EUR/day.
WLAN didn't work properly all the time, but it was ok.
The appartment is just as described. Thanks Alisa
