Walid was a great host. He was able to organized trips for us but wasn't overbearing when we wanted to go places on our own. From the rooftop you can see the pyramids and hear and see the light and sound show. Overall, a great place to stay for your trip to Cairo.

Walid was a wealth of information. What he doesn't know about Egypt isnt worth knowing. He picked us up from the airport and took us right to the house. It was basic but clean and had everything we needed. You could see the pyramids from the window. Walid and his brothers couldn't do enough for us. He organised all our tours. We did so much. We never felt scared or threatened. Egyptians are so friendly. Everyone is happy and so ready to help. Nothing is too much trouble. We felt so welcome and ended up being part of the family. We loved every minute of our time in Egypt and cant wait to return to stay with our Egyptian Family again.

We had a fantastic time in Cairo, thanks to Walid, his grandfather Moses who was our guide, and the location in view of the pyramids. Walid went above and beyond in providing transportation to and from the airport, even though our plane arrived at 2 a.m.! Well, we missed the Cairo business traffic which probably saved as 1.5 hours the next day. The most surprising part of the apartment was how BIG it is, plenty of room for a family to spread out. People who are comfortable with Day's Inn motels in the U.S. will appreciate this apartment, but with so. much. more. room! Also the view of the pyramids from the roof patio at night!! Wow. Personally, I liked watching the camels, horses, carts getting ready in the morning for the day's work; the smells only noticeable outdoors. We hired Walid's 87-year old grandfather for our tour guide--couldn't have been happier. Grandpa Moses is a retired Egypt history professor and was responsible for teaching many of the tour guides out there. I would say we got the "Egyptology-lite" tour rather than the "encyclopedia" tour, that is to say, we didn't get every little fact possible (which we wouldn't have remembered anyway) but got enough information and personal (URL HIDDEN) to make for a delightful day. Highly recommended.

The home is enormous and a very good value for the location. It is directly in front of the Pyramids and Sphinx - a few seconds to the entrance gate! It is VERY local and you may be the only non- Egyptians walking through the back streets at certain times of the day which makes it really interesting and fun. There are some good restaurants very near and some takeaway places as well. What we were missing the most is a good coffee shop other than a very local place that only served Arabic/Turkish style coffee. Otherwise, the food and market options are plentiful. Walid was great in showing us the neighbourhood and the local and VERY affordable places to eat. We had Walid take us on a tour of the Pyramids and on a day trip to Saqqara, Dashur, and Memphis. I highly recommend these tours! The apartment is by no means luxurious as there are some areas that Walid is fixing up, but it is comfortable and large enough for a family of 6. So for the location and the real feeling of being a local, the place is really nice. As far as wifi, we had trouble connecting regularly and my husband needs it to be consistent to for his job, so we bought a data SIM card for our hotspot with Walid at the Orange shop and it wa super fast and affordable.

Walid's apartment is good and suitable for family's traveller. Walid has both good aptitude and attitude. He has good knowledge of Egyptian history and can be helpful tour guide for short visit customer.

my Job is English Tour Guide.I 'm a freelance tour guide, I LOVE my job, never bored for being at the Pyramids and historical sights ++100 times before because every time is different for being with new people, from different countries so the world come to me :)

Also I organize tours around all Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan and I plan trips to camp in the desert for a night or two..

I love when my guest ask for something special to do for him as a friend, not a tourist so I consider all my guests friends or family because who uses Airbnb likes to get the local experience and see how people live not as being a tourist.

if you have any comments or suggestions on how i can make anything better next time please let me know :) also tell me if you have any special events coming up as i love adding small special touches.
