Our modern 4 bedroom house is situated on the sunny side of Queenstown, with huge lake views, indoor outdoor living and a roaring fire in winter.Enjoy walking and bike trails, bus and ferry links, and proximity to Remarkables and Coronet skifields
We have a modern compact house over 3 levels, poised on the edge of Lake Wakatipu. The guest room is a large room with a Queen Bed and seating area and a shared bathroom with doors onto the outside (email hidden) is quiet and separate from the main living area. We also have 2 single bedrooms at a lesser rate. We only rent one room at a time, so the bathroom is only shared if one of our children is visiting; otherwise the bathroom is for your sole use.
You will have a key to the house. WE have wifi and will give you a password upon arrival.
We have mountain bikes which you can use by arrangement.
Interaction with Guests
We are happy to help with suggestions of what to do and places to see and enjoy. there is so much to do and see! We often walk or ski in the weekends and you are welcome to join us. We are generally home in the evening, and dinner is not provided. If you want to cook, then talk to us about use of the kitchen and cook alongside us and we can share mealtimes. We would prefer that the kitchen is only used once during the evening and washing up is done together. Ask questions!
For breakfast please help yourself to breakfast food supplied. Please observe respectful times of use, and refer to the house manual.
We have fantastic sun, great views and are close to shops, walking and cycling tracks and both ski mountains. We live in the suburb of Kelvin Heights, but with the great view of the lake we dont feel suburban! Our house is warm with a fire and central heating. We are next door to the Hilton Hotel so coffee shops, eating , pubs are within walking distance.(100m)
There is a bus (not frequent) into the main town of Queenstown, and a water taxi every hour. the water taxi is $10 dollars each way.
Other Things to Note
We have enjoyed being virtual tourists and learning about the countries of our guests. Please tidy up after yourselves, and feel free to watch TV, make a cup of tea and coffee and get your own breakfast. Food for breakfast will be available.
No smoking please, inside and out. As we both work it would be great if kitchen use is restricted to before 8.30pm at night.
We spent 5 days with Gillian and Roger. They are very friendly, laid back and helpful people. They really made us welcome. Gillian gave us lifts on our first day, cooked us a nice meal one night and we played board games with them on our last day (it was raining!). The accommodation is very private and quiet and great views as promised! One small thing, we thought we might manage without a car but hired one in the end as it's a little out of town and the public transport isn't great. But it's a great base for touring the area.
The reservation was canceled 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gillian and Roger's house is really fantastic and comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and they were so helpful for us. The room had a great lake views. The kingsize bed, the large room and everything have all made us feel so comfortable. We also had nice talk with the family while eating dessert they made. Hope coming back again.
My husband and I so enjoyed our stay with Gillian and her family. We felt welcomed and they were helpful in suggestions and information. The setting is so peaceful and we would have liked to have stayed for a few more days. I would highly recommend this stay. Myron and Cindy from USA
We had a lovely couple of days staying with Gillian and her family. Their house is beautiful, with stunning views of the lake and very peaceful surroundings. Gillian and Roger were great hosts and made us feel very at home. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was extremely comfortable. We would've loved to stay longer and would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone.
View is really good! Breakfast is nice! Gillian is a warm and passion host. Nice!
Gillian and her family are quite friendly to us. It really made our stay like home. Her house was lovely with amazing lake views. Would definitely recommend her to my friends:)
We are from Queenstown, New Zealand and parents of 4 children flung around the globe whom we like to visit if we can. We enjoy architecture, skiing, music, walking and conversation. We have had many ski adventures but look forward to seeing more of the world and sharing our home with people from around the world. Our family motto is "always active" and we would love to help you enjoy the great outdoors here.
