This is a SMALL hotel room in an old unique ski lodge. The lodge was originally built in the 1940's and over the years different wings have been added on. The room does have a private bathroom but not a bath tub (just shower). There is a small TV but no phone.
We have great access to downtown Winter Park and the Winter Park Resort is a quick 10 minute ride on the FREE resort shuttle. On site we have a hot tub, pool table, ping pong table, and board games. There is also a ski shop and a tshirt shop.

The location could not have been better! There is a little shopping/dining area right next door that was perfect for grabbing dinner.
Scott was at the T-Shirt store when we dropped by to check in and he gave us the tour right away and made us feel right at home. We even got to relax in a hot-tub in the evening. The place is a little dated, as described, but it was perfect for our needs! Thanks, Scott!!!
Great place to stay. I enjoyed the fun location in Winter Park right next door to several shops and restaurants.
My boyfriend and I had a great one-night stay at the Viking Lodge. Scott was very responsive when we sent a last-minute request for the 4th of July weekend. The room was tidy and just as described, and the location was perfect for us -- we were close to downtown and could easily hop over to the resort in a few minutes. We would stay with Scott again!
It was difficult to reach the folks here. I had to send a few inquiries and call the company quite a few times before I received a response. And we didn't sleep well because the beds weren't overly comfortable. But it's a neat little place and affordable, so one can't be too picky.
I booked last minute on a busy weekend and everything was great. Good room, great location, and kind staff. I would recommend this place to anyone who is just needing a place to stay after a day on the slopes.
Exactly what I needed, a bed to fall down on after a long day of riding! No problem checking in, got there early but they kept my suitcase next to the desk so I could hit the mountain. (Not in a locked room, took valuables with me) Overall, good experience!

About the Host, Scott
Here at The Viking, we love skiing! That is pretty much what my family and I do from November to April. Both my daughters are active in different programs at Winter Park Ski area, and I coach for both the ski are and the local high school race team. In the other months of the year, we generally like to be outside. We love to travel and have been all over the world from Munich to Bangkok. Mostly, our trips are a bit last minute, we are never quite sure where we will end up. As hosts, we are big on helping you out. If there is anything that you need to make your stay more comfortable, and we will to what we can to get that done for you. Around here, we all can chat about pretty much anything.
