Couldn't have asked for a better rental for our time on the Big Island. The whole space is well designed and furnished with lots of great little touches throughout (I think we were all left a little speechless when we first saw it in person). Totally one of a kind, and a complete steal for the price. The garden is great as well. Only downside is It's a bit of a drive to things like Volcano and Kona area beaches, but we knew that going in. Also be sure to spend a little time with the cats that live on the property, as they seem to have picked up some of the Aloha spirit and are some of the friendliest cats I've ever seen!
The house is beautiful and the location was great for what we were planning. The communication from our host was prompt and clear throughout the entire process. Directions to and description of the property were true to reality. The caretakers who live downstairs were discreet and super helpful (we had some problems on this trip - not related to the rental - and they helped us tremendously). Would definitely stay here again!
The Balinese home by the beach was truly elegant and more exquisite than my partner and I could have hoped for or expected. The bold colors and a host of amazing details made the interior of this spacious house an artist's dream to enjoy. The lanai areas were also large and well outfitted with comfortable furniture. The kitchen was huge and well stocked for use as well. I can't say enough good things about our experience. From my initial contact with Justin to our parting interactions with the property caretaker Verushka, the warmth and friendliness of our hosts was very evident. They clearly cared to make sure that we were happy and our needs were met. Bravo Justin and team! I'm glad you would welcome us back because this was truly one of the best places, if not THE best place I have stayed on the island. And as the owner of a beautiful guest cottage on the West side of the island, I feel I can speak with some confidence. Mahalo.
Fantastic!! Justin and his home's caretaker team were a delight to work with: flexible, warm, caring, and communicative. And the home was absolutely gorgeous, even more beautiful than in the photos. This place is the best kept secret in Puna! Big mahalo!
It met all our expectations, a beautiful place in a rain forest environment. A little tricky finding the place in the dark but managed with the map provided. Sitting out on the lanai our first evening we saw a sky full of stars. Climbing up the latter onto the roof provided an even better view. Loved the decor in the place, particularly the bedroom opening onto the front lanai. A very memorable place.
Four of us stayed at Justin's Balinese-inspired house for seven days in January, and it was a wonderful experience! The house is beautiful -- the pictures don't do it justice! There were plenty of comfy, private sleeping areas, and the house was well suited for multiple individuals. The property itself is serene, quiet and peaceful. I especially loved the coqui frogs singing at night and the geckos sunning themselves on the deck during the day. Fair warning, geckos are a common sight throughout the house, but they are harmless, cute, and keep the bugs away! The house was clean, the onsite caretakers were friendly and gave us plenty of privacy, and the house had all the amenities we could ask for. The only downside is that it is a bit of a trek to get to other areas of the island. Hilo is a 50 minute drive, Kona is about an hour and a half. But, if you're looking for a tropical retreat in a beautiful jungle with a black sand beach and an awesome farmers market just down the street, then this is the place for you!
Overall, very satisfied with our stay, and we hope to visit again someday! Thanks Justin & co.!
Justin welcomed us with open arms. We only had 1 nite to enjoy Balinese Elegance. From the moment we arrived, it was magical. From the lush botanical gardens to the beautiful & colorful decor of Justin's home. The pictures on the site tells it all. The place was clean & cozy. We enjoyed cooking in the gourmet kitchen. In the morning I climb up the ladder to the top of the roof and saw a spectacular sunset.
We would definitely come back for a longer stay.
This is an awsome place, it is even more beautiful than on the pictures. We had a really nice time. We were sad that we only stayed for three days, more time would have been great.
