Justin's home is a comfortable and serene retreat (the property is surrounded by a lush and well-tended garden and the sounds of frogs at night was beautiful). We loved staying here and it was a great location from which to explore the Hilo/Puno side of Hawaii (45 minutes to Hilo and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and 20 minutes to hot springs and tidal pools). Carla, who was our host while we were staying, was warm, welcoming and helpful (she even brought us freshly picked fruit from their garden). This has been one of our favorite places to stay and we would definitely stay again.
This place is absolutely beautiful!! This was the first time I used airbnb and I couldn’t be happier . Justin and Corina sent a detailed description of the qualities of the house and they even included things to see in Hilo. It was the perfect get away location. The house has a relaxing feel and the tropical gardens around the property was bliss. The small details of the house like the tiles, creative windows and the carved doors were spectacular. I can’t wait to visit again.
We had a wonderful time staying here. The house was the perfect retreat--beautiful, spacious, quiet. Pahoa is a great place to stay to experience Hawaii's old and new lava fields and beaches. The house is also very close to the Kapoho Tide Pools which offer wonderful snorkeling without the crowds.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this house and hope that, once we buy some land on-island, we'll build a something like this. From seeing many of the houses in the immediate area, this house & its surrounding property is one of the most beautiful. Justin was quick to answer any questions we had and Carla who lives below, was so helpful when we had questions.
Along with other reviewers, with all the Balinese furniture, this place is not-to-be-missed!
This place is a temple. So incredibly beautiful and rejuvenating. My time here flew by far to quickly. The hosts were incredible, they offered great insiders advice on secluded beaches and very sacred traditional spots.
This is THE place to stay on the big island! From geckos to a beautiful soaker tub and rain shower it has everything, and is located in such a funky area.
I'll be dreaming of the evening frog calls until I can return.
Thank you for paradise.
Justin's vacation home was paradise. It was exquisite, lovely and comfortable.
We felt right at home. Carla welcomed us and then left us to our own devices. Everything was easy and close to perfect.
I would highly recommend and would love to stay again for more time.
Things to know- get food on the way in. Go to all the places recommended by the hosts. They are beautiful.
This is the second time we have stayed at Balinese Elegance Airbnb. As last time, we were charmed by the beautiful calming vibes of the house. The sound of the frogs chirping all night is such a relaxing song to fall asleep to as was the sound of the rain hitting the roof as we happened to hit a wet week during our stay. We made good use of the wonderful tub in the bathroom to relax in after enjoying the amazing snorkeling in the nearby pools in Kapoho. Check out the
nearby Yoga retreat Kalani for dinner or handmade ice cream!
