The space

The Artist's House is a 1325 square-foot, 2-story masonry "shotgun row house" built in 1920, with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and original heart pine floors. Completely renovated in 2011, this high-ceilinged, sun-filled house has been furnished to provide a relaxing, attractive oasis to guests, with all the comforts of home.

The Artist's House features an eclectic art collection, showcasing the work of local area artists, including painters, photographers, potters, woodworkers, sculptors, crafters and musicians.

There are 2 off-street parking spots, a private backyard with patio furniture and a garden in transition and a front porch with seating.

The Artist's House is just a short walk (3 minutes) from Frederick's town center. Convenient to shops, theatres, fine restaurants, museums, galleries and parks.

All bedrooms have Sleep Number/Select Comfort beds (1 K, 1 Q and 1 T) with designer linens. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and granite countertops.

The bathrooms are new, as well, as is the central air conditioning. There is a 46" HDTV in the living room and a wide area Internet service.

Ideal accommodations for wedding parties, reunions, romantic escapes, family vacations, corporate stays, girlfriends' weekends.

The Frederick area is rich with history, charm, culture, natural beauty, fine dining, nightlife and recreational activities. It is also a convenient central location from which to venture into Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Frederick is less than an hour from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Gettysburg, Antietam and Sharpsburg, and Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

Besides its convenient location, Frederick is home to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Fort Detrick, Bechtel, State Farm, the Frederick Keys minor league baseball team, the 5-star Volt Restaurant (with Top Chef runner-up Bryan Voltaggio), Hood College, the Weinberg Center, the Community Bridge designed by "public artist" William Cochran. and Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Frederick hosts many special events throughout the year, including many holiday adventures at year-end.

There are so many fun places and events to visit and experience in Frederick's truly charming downtown.

Nightly rates vary by number of days (2 night minimum) and the time of year and weekday vs weekend. And there are NO extra cleaning fees.

Great location downtown with ability to walk to restaurants. Private parking was really convenient. The back yard and gardens were very relaxing and enjoyable. All the basics and more were easily found in the home. The resource book and area maps were very helpful.
