About This Listing
My sunny '70s 2 bedroom cabin with exposed redwood cathedral beam ceilings has amazing canyon views. There's a hot tub and a small one bedroom outbuilding that's its own little getaway. It's in a very special neighborhood with really nice people.
My house was part of a special group of homes designed and built by a couple in the late '70s. Their thought and detail is seen everywhere in the house. It's not a big home, but it's designed to maximize space. Exposed redwood cathedral ceilings are in the living room and there are 2 bedrooms. A very large lower deck contains a hot tub, outdoor shower and a small cabin that has a bed. Truly a special getaway the owner has decided to let others enjoy. House truly is most comfortable with 4 adults max.
Guests will have access to hot tub and outdoor shower. Outdoor shower and running outside water may be off in the winter due to freezing pipes.
Interaction with Guests
I won't be around during the stay, but am available at all times. I can have as much interaction as necessary including the actual stay. I prefer to answer questions and help as much as I can.
The neighborhood is along a ridge top. The neighbors are quite close and look after each other. There's a yearly gathering of the neighbors for a covered dish event. Everyone is very respectful of noise and space.
There is parking for one car in the driveway- possibly 2 small cars. There's also street parking in front of the wine barrel planters.
Other Things to Note
It's a one mile walk to the river- head out on the 116 for a short walk to Odd Fellows Road and hang a right. There's a cool bridge and beach area. Continue across the bridge in the summer and you'll get to Korbel.
Pets are negotiable, no cats though. No smoking in the house. I'd prefer to not have smoking on the decks due to possible burns. I expect guests to not be loud at night outside past 9pm.
Bob's home is even more magical than the listing conveys; the interior is beautifully decorated, the double-deck and hot tub nestled within the redwoods is amazingly inviting, and the separate bedroom on the lower deck is a fantastic bonus! Coordinating with Bob was very straight forward, and the thoughtfully prepared instruction book for his home was the perfect guide for our stay - he's truly thought of everything, which is allowed us to immediately feel at home, and to fully enjoy a relaxing weekend away.
Bob's place is fantastic! The views were great, the house and the loft were cozy and the hot tub was refreshing after a day at the wineries. His place is also close to many mid size and smaller wineries.
Bob also provided a nice booklet on the house + the area. Hope to come back soon!
This is a beautiful home with really top-notch hospitality and decor. This is one of the best airbnb's I've ever stayed in - you can actually feel how much care Bob has taken and continues to put into the place.
Hot tub is excellent, the 3 bedrooms are spaced out and make it reasonable for 3 adults to stay comfortable, and the kitchen is really great!
My friends and I had the most wonderful time at Bob's house! The setting couldn't be more idyllic surrounded by redwoods, hearing only birds and the neighbor's goats (and a rooster in the morning, so fun!). The deck space and views are lovely, the hot tub is exquisite, the large outdoor table perfect for a home cooked meal, the beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the house is beautifully decorated with gorgeous light at all hours of the day... I could go on and on! Can't wait to return!
Wow. We LOVED our stay at Pullum House! Bob's home is beautiful and reflects his eclectic and fun style. We had everything we needed for our stay and really enjoyed the hot tub. Not that we used them much, but having amenities like wi-fi and cable were great. Bob shared recommendations for eateries and sightseeing and we ended up visiting many those spots. Thanks Bob for a fantastic weekend getaway!
The Pullum House was such a gem, I can't even begin to describe! Insanely cute 70's architecture nestled in the redwoods, super serene and impeccably decorated, you feel like you are in Sunset Magazine. We loved staring up at the redwood trees from the hot tub. The small cabin was super cute and smelled like delicious cedar. Bob was a super responsive, helpful and accommodating host. Go check out his other side project the Guerneville Bank Club, a collective retail and art gallery space downtown (it's also super cute and well designed, I'd expect nothing less from Bob!) I will definitely be coming back to stay at the Pullum House, my only regret was not staying longer. What a magical spot!

About the Host, Bob
I'm a creative director and appreciate all of what Northern California has to offer. I've looked to find special architecturally interesting and significant homes as I love the period of architecture in the area from the mid to late '60s, as well as 1970s. My properties are thoughtfully decorated to the period they were designed, yet updated appropriately.
I've been collecting special mid-century furniture, objects and artwork. I'm also into vintage muscle cars. I'm on the board of an organization to document and help preserve buildings of the modern movement. I'm not a big TV watcher, but never tire of the classic TV sitcoms of the past. I don't do reality TV as I'd rather use the time reading about architecture or design! Or going outside.
I love traveling to Europe occasionally, as well as I'll always love Hawaii. I've been to all the islands but Kauai.
My place in Guerneville affords access to great local food, as well as some awesome wineries. I feel fortunate to be so close to such amazing places!
In my job and in my life, I'm very detail and goal-oriented. I hope you see that detail and care in both of my homes and enjoy your stay!
