We met Cathy at the hotel near the house. She took us up to the house and our jaws hit the floor. The photos don;t do it any justice, though I doubt any photographer could capture the beauty of La Pinay (the name of Cathy's house)
The house is just magical, and fully functional for a place to stay. The bed was super comfy and wifi and kitchen were spot on. The surrounding areas, including Rocadamour, were so beautiful to explore.
If you ever arrive at this listing you would be about to have a magical holiday.
Staying in Cathy's home in Lacave was a wonderful experience. It was a great base to explore the beautiful Dordogne area.
The house itself is small but absolutely adorable! Cathy's attention to detail and cleanliness are evident throughout the property.
One thing to note...the house is split over three levels so if you have any mobility issues this would be something to consider.
Cathy is also a great host and provided us with lots of info on the area.
We would highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Lacave. The view is absolutely incredible. We enjoyed breakfast on the patio overlooking the hillsides. The bed was very comfortable, and during the summer, we were very happy to have air-conditioning. The whole house is charming and certainly an experience to be had!
La Pinay is a serene countryside stone house perched above the valley, great for relaxation or simply enjoying the scenic landscape of the Eastern Dordogne. Cathy was very welcoming and the interior is very quaint and comfortable. Be sure to wander down to Cathy's husband's restaurant below if you are a foodie...that was one of the best meals we have had in France...a rustic and very enjoyable Michelin star experience.
Little stone cottage was a perfect stop on our honeymoon around Europe. The location is simply perfect, and Cathy went out of her way in offering help and suggestions for what we could do and see. Her husband is the chef at the Michelin starred restaurant a little down the hill, and although we didn't get to try it this time, it certainly would be a great spot for dinner. Although small and quiet itself, Lacave is very close to Souillac which offered everything we needed including supermarkets and the local market for fresh produce.
We highly recommend Cathy and her lovely cottage - I only wish we could have stayed longer!
