About this listing
A beautiful room with all needs and private bathroom, Ac and kitchen juse
Lovely atmospheric house. Room had a nice bathroom, with warm water at all times. And a fridge and air conditioning. Don't worry if Lena leaves the key outside for you. It works fine and the road is lovely with both families and businesses. Location is great. And Lena was really helpful. You are also able to leave your luggage in the living room after you check out.
Gracias...
The room was rather small, and it was not ready when I arrived. After it had been cleaned up, however, it was clean and was definitely worth what I paid for. It is very central in Chania, which I think is its strongest point.
One thing that was not clear to me when I booked, is that it is not a private room in an apartement but rather one of many small rooms, all rented out. Not a huge difference, but probably it would be nicer to have this well explicit in the apartment description.
All in all, I would recommend the place for very short time, like one or two days top.
There was some confusion over the booking but Lena met me and told me I had an upgrade to s bigger room. It was downstairs with its own kitchen which was very useful and quiet in the night so I slept well. Good location and cool even though temps were high in Hania.
When I landed in Chania airport I received aLena text message saing that there was a last second problem with my room and it was not longer availabe. Once I got to her pension I found her note saying that I could go to her cousine's pension. No many info to get there. However, I am used to travel so I didn't panic. But I wonder what happened if I was a more anscious person...in the following days she didn't come to see if I was happy or not for the new last second accomodation. However, Cristina, her cousin, was super nice and welcoming. Her pension is called "hotel stella". So, I can write a review for hotel stella, which is clean, cozy, very Central. But I cannot write a review for Lena, As I have never met her and when I arrived there to understand where hotel Stella was, I met the guest who was living in what should have been my accomodation...I am an experienced traveler (Europe, Africa, Middle East) and I am almost embarassed to say that that was the first time I met a person who was not making sure that everything was ok...again, very sorry to write this...especially because is related to a person from Chania, which is a fantastic place to visit and where its inhabitants are super kind and friendly!
I made this reservation on behalf of my 20-year-old son who was on holiday with friends without reliable access to the internet. Mrs. Lena did not hesitate to accept my request and booked her beautiful single room for him. His arrival was planned on a Sunday and Mrs. Lena made sure that, even though she wouldn't be able to meet my son personally, he would have access to the room. He loved the room, the location, the peace, which made his short stay in Chania a delight. The price, given the location and time of the year, was also quite reasonable. I'd definitely recommend Mrs. Lena and her pension behind the Nautical Museum.
