The place was as described, and Elly was a wonderful host, going through all the local places in detail with us on a map.
Wonderful location, beautiful place, would recommend to friends. Thanks Elly!
I very much enjoyed this apartment. The location is in many ways excellent being away from the tourist hot zone and yet within earshot of every place you might want to attend. As mentioned in the description, the urban noise out on the Piazza di Santo Spirito was quite audible in the living room of the apartment sometimes until quite late, but the bedroom is in the back of the unit and when the door is closed not much sound from the party downstairs makes it to your bed whilst you sleep. It seems that on the weekends the crowds are a little bit bigger and rowdier. As for the apartment itself, it's beautiful, well equipped and most comfortable. I especially loved the bathtub with its hot tube style water jets. Quite relaxing. It had a great sound system which could play music off of my iPhone and laptop, a respectable book collection and a workable piano for the musically inclined. Elly is a fantastic manager of this apartment and was very helpful. I liked her service so much that I rented another one of her fine apartments in the San Frediano district that was a bit larger and quieter. I definitely suggest to others that you rent from Elly. Ciao to my fellow Airbnb travelers, Michael
This was my second stay at Spiritazia. I left a review before about how great the apartment is and how wonderful Elly is as a host, but I feel I need to reiterate this by leaving another one. This time, I ended up breaking a tooth late one night. In fear and desperation, I contacted Elly right away in hopes of finding a dentist who hopefully spoke a little English. Not only did she respond promptly (the same night, despite the hour) with a suggestion, but she wrote again the following morning with the name, number, and address of a dentist who definitely spoke english. Long story short, my tooth is fixed, and thanks to Elly the process was MUCH easier than I could have imagined. She even followed up with me to make sure my tooth was ok!
Stay at this apartment...or, if you don't, make sure to stay with Elly.
I stayed in this apartment over the weekend. It is a clean apartment and very nicely decorated. The apartment is situated over the very charming piazza santo spirito. I enjoyed this during the day .. Cafés, restaurants, great little back verandah and nice little market. However at night I found it too noisy ... Till 3 or 4 in the morning ! Great if you want to join the party .. But definitely not peaceful as hundreds of people drinking below the apartment ..and music .. Closing bedroom door helped .. Also the neighbours were quite noisy till very late. Elly is a very helpful, friendly and welcoming host.
Elly was a fantastic hostess! Planning a stay of a few months, this is where we started! From the photos, it looked like a gracious space. I looked forward to a soak in the jetted tub after a long flight. It is "as advertised" though a little more "tired" and used than the photos indicate. The reviews mentioning the large late night crowds in the piazza were also accurate, though with closed doors, the sound did not carry back to the bedroom. I had not read anything about the kindergarten playground below the back balcony off the bedroom. We wanted "total immersion" into Italian life and we got it! We loved being in the Oltrarno district, the market, the noise and all! This would not be the location (over the Pop Cafe) for those seeking serenity.
The apartment was just as advertised! Clean and airy with plenty of space. It is well appointed and beautifully decorated. Elly was very helpful giving us a list of what to see and where to eat information. The location is good lots of food places in the street and we loved to walk to all the attractions. There is some noise from the street at night but we found that closing the door to the bedroom fixed this. We would definitely recommend this and stay there again on our next trip. Brian and Sue. Australia!
This apartment is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. Although I did not meet Elly she arranged for her friend Alessia to meet us and show us around the apartment. They also provide a very helpful map of the area and tips of local restaurants and gelateria.
This is a very lively square where there is always something on so it can get quite noisy, but after long days walking around the city you will be too tired to even notice. And the beauty of the apartment far out weighs the noise levels.
Anytime I am in Florence this would be my first choice of places to stay!
This is by far the best airbnb flat I've ever rented and I've rented quite a few! Right off the bat, Elly was very helpful and communicative with getting us there and finding the apartment. Upon arrival, she explained in detail and with a map everything in Florence that we wanted to see. She recommended many amazing places to eat and our favorite gelateria around the corner.
The apartment is beautiful, well maintained and furnished adorably. It is quite large too so we didn't feel cramped or crowded. It is right on a very popular piazza and at night can be noisy but if you go into the bedroom to sleep, you can close the door and won't hear a thing.
I loved my stay here and would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.
This is a wonderful and delightful apartment overlooking an amazing piazza which holds a great food market every morning. In the evening the piazza transforms into a fascinating area of wine bars, restaurants and cafes frequented by locals. The apartment is away from the main tourist area but still only 5-10 mins walk to Ponte Vecchio. The apartment was very clean, light and airy with a comfortable bed.
Elly was a delight to deal with, responding promptly to emails. She even left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. We thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Elly's flat was a fantastic place to stay in Florence. The location was a perfect place to see and experience how some of the locals in Florence lived. Many restaurants nearby with great food.
