Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging.
Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees.
One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck.
Our other amenities and services are as follows:
Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request.
Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup and instant hot cereal included
Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests.
The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year.
Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request.
As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugarhouses, breweries, and farms (website hidden), It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
We like to meet our guests when they arrive and are usually home during their stay. If you need anything or want to visit for coffee, that is fine and welcomed by us.

Wonderful stay. Marilou met me upon my arrival and gave me a brief showing of the space and how things worked. The space was exactly as pictured. One of the items that stood out was there responsiveness before my arrival. Any time I emailed or sent them a text they responded very promptly.
The Vermont Tree Cabin exceeded my expectations. It is comfortable, well-designed and stocked with all the essentials. Andrew greeted us when we arrived and chatted for a bit. It was clear that a lot of love and thought was put into everything.
My boyfriend and I were able to cook all of our meals outside, and as all the other reviews stated, the waffles were amazing!
There was coffee, tea, sugar, oil, S&P and some spices. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes and cutlery you could need. The bathroom includes plenty of soft towels, soap, shampoo and other helpful toiletries like floss and bug spray.
The cabin does not have AC, but it doesn't really need it. Our first night it was in the high 80s/ low 90s. With the windows and door open and the fan on, it was comfortable.
Would love to go back!
Top B&B, the cabin is cozy, charming and very clean. It is a relaxing place in the middle of the nature. I recommand this cabin and would definitely go back there. We met Andrew, who is very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for this nice stay!
We have been lucky enough to travel around the country and stay at lots of small, private accommodations. This was among the best. Clean, beautiful, and the deck/soaking tub were absolutely terrific. Also, speedy wi-fi and a great shower. Andrew was fantastic and accommodating ... he was willing to work with us when our flights were delayed, and took care of little things without complaint or delay -- the smoke detector in the unit went wonky our first night, but Andrew had a new one in place by mid-afternoon. If all AirBnB places were as good as this one, the world would be a better place! Looking forward to Andrew's new treehouse project, which I bet will be even better.
We loved our time at the Vermont Tree Cabin. It was clean, comfortable, and they supplied many simple amenities that we didn't even know we'd miss if they weren't there. We loved the hot tub, being surrounded by nature, and we loved the waffles!
My wife and I had a glorious honeymoon here. Andrew and Marilou are wonderful hosts and we greatly enjoyed the space, a perfect cozy retreat. The waffle mixes were a real treat as was the hot tub. Thank you!!
Had a really great time in Andrew and Marilou's little cabin. The place was extremely clean! Waffles were fantastic and Andrew even brought us up some more cooking supplies when we ran out. The bar has been set high!
I surprised my wife with a getaway to this gem in Vermont for our 2nd anniversary...and I think even I was a little surprised! As people have said, the pictures don't truly do this place justice. Everything from the trail walk up to the cabin to the cabin interior to the deck design was so well thought out that it grants you a fantastic getaway experience. I think Andrew and Marilou have certainly found their niche as bnb hosts! I HIGHLY recommend the delicious, provided waffle breakfast, hiking Mt. Pisgah, dinner at Baliwicks in town, and hot tubbing to relax the muscles. This was my first airbnb experience, and it certainly set the standard high!
The entire experience was exceptional, beyond our expectations. We are both Native American and connecting with our natural environment is important to us.
We came up from New London CT for a three day getaway. The cabin, although small, 16 x 12, it is well designed. The construction is well above average and thoughtful. e.g. the toilet is the best wall hanging toilet you can get. My wife is a construction project manager and she was impressed. Materials used were high quality everywhere. Even the cot is the best you can buy. Andrew is good at this. No detail was missed.
The environment is similarly great. The cabin is on a steep mountain/hill facing west in a lightly populated area. The whole Northeast Kingdom of VT is lightly populated. Yet it is only a couple of miles from downtown St. Johnsbury with numerous good restaurants, and nice shops you don't see everywhere. Everyone seems conscious of healthy nutrition as well from the cabin itself, to the food coop, and restaurants. We will be back. This is an exquisite place to connect with nature on all levels.
We never met Marilou, but Andrew met us and got us established in the cabin. He is very nice, easy to talk with, and helpful. He is building a tree house community on 40 acres he bought. I can't wait until he opens them. We are very excited to have found this place.
Marylou and Andrew were really nice and generous. The house was cute and everything fit the description perfectly. Overall super positive experience.
