About this listing
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging.
Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees.
One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck.
Our other amenities and services are as follows:
Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request.
Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup and instant hot cereal included
Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests.
The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year.
Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request.
As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugarhouses, breweries, and farms (website hidden), It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.

The Vermont Tree Cabin was a fabulous place for a cosy away-from-it-all week-end.
The neighbourhood was peaceful and we had a great time.
I must say that we were excited way before arriving only because of the pictures. But in reality it was truly much better. Everything was so neat and clean - we really couldn't have asked for more. However, it was actually much more because Andrew and his wife were not only considerate in every way (our privacy and anything that we could have possibly needed) but also, Andrew went way beyond the call of duty... we were annoyed that we didn't reserve this wonderful cabin for longer - we'd love to come again!
We loved the tree Cabin! It was beautifully crafted, and impressively built. The little jacuzzi was fun, and relaxing after a long drive. Beautiful views of the trees in the morning light. We arrived late and didn't meet Marilou, but Andrew was very charming and helpful.
We were greeted by Andrew and helped to our cabin. A warm welcome to an equally inviting get away.
A name that conjures images of an idyllic hideaway in the woods. A rustic retreat from the never-ceasing demands of modern life.
Fortunately, the reality of the place is even better than the glimmering possibility. For not unlike the gods reaching the summit of Mount Olympus a stay here will make you feel as if you've discovered heaven.
Marilou and Andrew are wonderful hosts; upon our arrival late on a Friday night they made a note to greet us and show us around their place. Everything was thoughtfully arranged. Speaking of which, the Treehouse is designed perfectly; we thought it was like a New York City apartment. Each element seems to be exactly the right size, from the kitchen to the bathroom to the sleeping area. The level of thought that went into designing the place is truly impressive.
But as ideal as the inside is, the outside is where the really good stuff is. On the large deck you will feel like a denizen of the high trees. Whether you are enjoying waffles (let's just say that the mix the hosts provide was so delicious that we were pricing out waffle makers before we even left!) at the table overlooking the forest or cooking on the grill or taking repose in the hot tub or just sitting on the swing, you'll put a million miles between you and whatever troubles burden your mind.
And isn't that what a vacation is all about?
We adored every moment we spent at the Treehouse. We cannot recommend it highly enough! We are already planning our next (website hidden): make a note to visit the St. Johnsbury Farmer's Market if you're staying on a Saturday. And if you like maple products and tchotchkes be sure to visit Maple Grove Farms. Lastly if you enjoy factory tours, Cabot, Ben & Jerry's and Magic Hat are all within easy driving distance. Explore, experience and, most of all, enjoy!

Andrew is very friendly and easy to communicate with. The space is very cool: the best tree house you've ever stayed in, with a thoughtful layout and construction. We also loved the hot tub after a couple days hiking. We had a great stay and would happily stay again.
What a treat. Such a lovely place to spend a well needed evening of rest on our travels. The soaking tub under the stars was beautiful, Netflix to veg out with afterwards, and waffles in the morning! Andrew was helpful and our privacy was respected. I recommend this Airbnb for a getaway.
About the Host, Andrew And Marilou
Marilou and I are a very easy-going couple, enjoying life in Vermont. We have lived in our state for over 20 years and have lived in Waterford since the year 2000. Although our children have grown up and moved out, we moved here, finding it one of the best places to live and raise a family.
In our spare time, we enjoy staying active, taking walks, playing with our dog Wally, and traveling the world experiencing new places/cultures and meeting new people.
