About this listing
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging.
Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees.
One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck.
Our other amenities and services are as follows:
Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request.
Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup and instant hot cereal included
Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests.
The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year.
Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request.
As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugarhouses, breweries, and farms (website hidden), It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.

Andrew and Marilou were fantastic hosts! I visited their tree cabin with my girlfriend for an anniversary getaway, and it was a great decision as it was very quaint and peaceful. They greeted us upon our arrival and were flexible with a check-in time when I contacted them in the days leading up to our stay. This was particularly helpful since we were hiking beforehand and did not know exactly when we would get there. The cabin was well stocked with all the necessities and more. They even had a hot tub recessed in the deck that was very relaxing to use at night, and a waffle maker and mix for the morning. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend Andrew and Marilou's tree cabin to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with an outdoorsy feel.
Let me start by saying this was our sort of honeymoon. This was the perfect quiet getaway after all the stress from the wedding. Our hosts were very accommodating even before booking. And we knew what to expect from the space which is why we chose it. Our second visit was as perfect as the first!
The Vermont Tree Cabin was the perfect place! Everything was as described or better, with all of the perfect touches. Andrew and Marilou were wonderful hosts and we hope to be back soon!
This was truly an amazing and perfect experience. We had such a relaxing time. Andrew and Marilou were the perfect hosts, every detail met to perfection
Andrew, Marilou and their adorable dog Wally greeted us. They are such easy going warm people that make you instantly feel at home and comfortable. The treehouse is perfect, better than we could have imagined. They provided more than I thought which was great, next time I know to just pack a backpack with clothes.
The Treecabin and the hosts were amazing. We loved everything about our two night stay and we will definitely be coming back again. The hot tub, waffles, privacy and the comfort of the cabin was everything we needed to unwind. Thank you!!!
Beautiful tree cabin and excellent hosts! The pictures don't do justice to this place it really is lovely and cozy. Comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower and the waffles in the morning were a nice touch. Andrew was quick to respond with any questions even helping us with directions when we got lost on the way. The hot tub was the best part! Easy to cook in the cabin too even though it's small I found it had everything I needed..knives, pots, a mixing bowl l, a few kitchen tools, a small burner and a grill. Just try and (email hidden) op on the way because I found the grocery store near by to be lacking a lot of what I was looking for. Also keep in mind that the fridge is a mini and the freezer doesn't really work. There is even Netflix on the tv if the weather isn't fit for exploring. We were so comfortable in the cabin we took Andrew up on his gracious offer to stay an extra night. If you're thinking of booking the cabin don't hesitate I know I'll definitely be back. Thanks Andrew and Marilou!!
About the Host, Andrew And Marilou
Marilou and I are a very easy-going couple, enjoying life in Vermont. We have lived in our state for over 20 years and have lived in Waterford since the year 2000. Although our children have grown up and moved out, we moved here, finding it one of the best places to live and raise a family.
In our spare time, we enjoy staying active, taking walks, playing with our dog Wally, and traveling the world experiencing new places/cultures and meeting new people.
