About This Listing
A quaint guesthouse in a beautiful backyard setting! High ceilings - lots of light in the main room - nice and cozy in the bedroom. Fits two and always ok with extra people and pets. Solar powered. 1/2 mile from River Path and 15 mins to dtown.
The guest house is tastefully decorated and has all the feelings of a small home. The backyard is a real treat at night when the lights come on! If you need access to laundry - not a problem. There is little I won't do to help improve your stay and always welcome suggestions.
I have now upgraded the water heater based on feedback from guests, the house is now ready for those nice long showers!
The bed is a full bed and is a few inches longer than a typical full bed.
There is a realtor's lock box on the side gate up the driveway, I will give you the code prior to your arrival..
Interaction with Guests
I live in the front house and am a social person! But also can be pretty busy so if you need anything please let me know and I'll respond as immediately as I can :)
The house is located about a 1/2 mile from the River Road Path. Otherwise, most things are driving distance.
Driving and biking are the best methods to get around from my house to local places of interest.
Other Things to Note
I have a greyhound rescue who has access to the main house and backyard. He is very good with other dogs, cats and children over 10.
I prefer that guests do not smoke while staying at the guest house. sorry and thanks for understanding.
Chris was an amazing host and we just loved the space, especially the garden! The guest house had everything we needed and Chris was nice enough to open his own house in case there was something extra he could provide. Our dog loved lounging in the yard and playing as well. Thank you for making us feel so welcome Chris, if we are in Tucson again we would definitely stay with you again!
I arrived in the evening and I liked how Chris made me feel welcome with having the lights on and A/C on for my comfort. The guesthouse is a good size (350 square feet I think) with nice hardwood floors, full kitchen, bathroom and separate bedroom. There were pots & pans, dishes, utensils, etc. including some other pantry items which was nice. Chris was very responsive, very welcoming and offered up ideas for my visit which I very much appreciated. His dog is low key and doesn't jump all over you. The neighborhood was okay - older and a little run down, but Chris's backyard was very nice and welcoming and you can park off street. I slept very well on the comfie bed with clean, fresh smelling towels and linens and I enjoyed the large walk-in shower. It was a central location and easy to get around Tucson. Chris had a great book and DVD collection too and a few local TV stations. Thank you Chris for a great stay!
The only upsetting part about my girlfriend's and my stay at Chris' listing was not having enough time to fully experience his backyard sanctuary (which looks sweet at night with the lighting he's installed) or play with his dog Harley. We came in late and had to leave very early the following morning. Chris has clearly put a lot of work into fine tuning the aesthetics of both his guest house and sanctuary - I particularly liked the blue-themed bedroom and cool pallet shower flooring. It was by far the hippest place we stayed at in Arizona and was well worth the price.
We had an absolutely wonderful week at Chris' place. The backyard apartment perfectly fitted our needs. It was clean and quiet and afforded us both the comfort and privacy we had hoped for. Chris was an absolutely wonderful host who went out of his way to make us feel welcome . We will be returning to Tucson on an annual basis in the spring for the next three years and we now feel we have found our 2nd home for the week.
Chris was very easy to contact and was thoughtful in preparing the space for us- he rearranged furniture before we got there to make us more comfortable. The guest house was very clean and well appointed, he helped us with the one small issue we had in a timely manner. Good location and great atmosphere, especially the back yard. It is a quiet place to relax and have a drink. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place in Tucson, and we will stay there again if the need arises!
You could not find a more gracious and kind host than Chris. He is so thoughtful and kind it is beyond words. We had an issue getting our rental car in Phoenix and were running late, Chris went to the Trader Joe's and bought us food for breakfast so we could just arrive and settle in without adding a shopping trip to the end of our very late day.
The casita is basic and rustic but if you are planning to spend most of your time exploring like we did it had all the basics we needed. The sheets and bedding and the towels were clean and fresh so we enjoyed crawling into our bed after a day of hiking.
The casita has a locked gate so we felt safe in the neighborhood.
We are happy we have made a new friend in Tucson!
Chris and his lovely guesthouse were wonderful! We loved his doggie, Harley, too! We would gladly stay again!
