Airbnb is a wonderful thing! But not without limitations. One that may surprise you is that no one checks if listings are of good standard or even true. You the guest are the tester! That's why guest reviews are SO important. Written outside host influence, they are the best way to avoid a ruined holiday. I have over 50 and I'm proud of them. So rather me tell you what a great place it is, let my guests tell you...please read their reviews... or click +More for my description...
Short stays are welcome but so too are longer stays of 1 or 2 months. If you are working temporarily in Sydney, this place offers comforts and freedom of a home lifestyle.
** Special rates negotiable for long stays and exclusive-use so enquire before booking**
This apartment is about lifestyle; large expanses of polished wood floors, furnished sparingly with design furniture and a few select art pieces. Uncomplicated space is the luxury here.
The large bedroom sleeps two people and has a queen size bed with feather pillows and heavy cotton sheets. Simple multi-function storage allows easy relief from suitcase living, even for short stays. The leafy view overlooks a quiet private courtyard. Only the birds may wake you up! Many guests comment on the extraordinary sounds of nature so close to the city.
The kitchen is well equipped and has a private guest fridge. The paved courtyard ideal for Sydney's amazing weather. Laundry facilities are available at discretion of the host. Towels and linen are all provided and changed as needed, so to is room cleaning. Television and DVD facilities can be used in the living room. Free WiFi is also available throughout the apartment and garden.
Interaction with Guests
Your host is a freelancer and sometimes works from a small home office. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with him when resident. The place is large and well laid out to provide private space for all. The host has private space that he can withdraw to, making you feel like it's all-yours on a regular basis. You will find him knowledgeable and helpful for the Sydney first-timer! A personal Double Bay map is provided on arrival along with Opal transport cards and tips.
There is a small schoolhouse across the road, beyond that a small park then less than 100m away (60yds) from the front door is the ferry direct to the city. A peaceful and safe environment 50m (30yds) from the shopping village famous for boutiques, cafes and restaurants and with a 7/11 supermarket.
Considered one of Sydney's most prestige suburbs it is a perfect location to base your visit, for work or pleasure. Its close proximity to the city, while sheltered from the hustle & bustle, offers welcome homely relief after a busy day.
Sydney downtown is less than 4km (2.5miles). From there it's 1 minute walk to Opera House, The Rocks 'Old Town', Botanical Gardens, Central Business District and main transport terminal. The fastest way is ferry in 10 minutes, train (Edgecliff) in 15 minutes or bus in 25 minutes.
If here to work, commuting by ferry offers a spectacular way to start the day, arriving at Circular Quay between Opera House and bridge. Many guests flag this as the highlight of their stay.
If you catch the ferry in the opposite direction, you'll soon be in beautiful Watson's Bay - with clifftop nature reserve, beaches, more restaurants and cafes, and from 'The Gap' a breathtaking 360 vista of ocean and harbour, including spectacular views of the city in the distance.
No smoking permitted inside
No use of washing machine or dryer at night.
The dryer is for damp fabrics only like towels, not fully wet laundry. There is an outdoor washing line for wet laundry.

Stefan is a wonderful host - very generous, very kind and very welcoming. He's delightful company, very accommodating and respectful. His generosity of the space for me to work in was greatly appreciated. The space itself is very zen, with very nice energy. Cool design pieces inhabit nooks. Only downside, and it's minor as Stefan has a great heater that warms rooms very well, is that it's cold. Again a sign of Stefan's generosity and thoughtfulness was the way the heater was given to me to warm up my room - greatly appreciated. I was never cold! His local knowledge is also great and he's happy to share. Thanks Stefan, and as they say, "I'll be back!"
Stefan was a wonderful host, made me feel very much at home, very flexible and helpful as well as a very knowledgeable person on many levels. Great area to stay in and enjoyed the sun in the backyard.
Stefans place is always a pleasure to stay at.
He makes me feel at home. It is very comfortable, clean and spacious. The accommodation is exactly as advertised. The bed is extremely comfortable with white bed linen and feather pillows. In the morning I wake up to birds singing in the courtyard garden.
The location is so convenient, only a very short walk to Double Bay where the cafes are amazing. Also a very short distance to the ferry.
I will be staying at Stefan's again when next in Sydney.
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was beautiful - clean, spacious, & very liveable. Our host, Stefan, made us feel very at home, comfortable & relaxed. He even had candles burning on our arrival! He was a fund of information, about parking, places to hike, getting Opal cards for local travel by train/bus/ferry, & even gave us tips for free local online movie/docs (he has wifi).
Our bedroom was spacious & warm, including large window views of the back terrace & foliage, which Stefan encouraged us to use at any time. The kitchen & bathroom were large & always accessible. The apartment is clean & inviting throughout. The location is quiet & just a 5 minute walk through a park to the ferry, which is a 10 minute ride to Circular Quay in downtown Sydney, landing right next to the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, & The Rocks. We will certainly be returning to stay with Stefan when next we visit Sydney!
