Modernised light apartment in converted granary. Small village in Pennines.
Internet access. Drive parking. Beautiful scenery.
Close to High Force waterfall, Bowes Museum and only 30 miles to historic Durham City. Good walks and on the Pennine Way - famous long walk in England. Local shops. Cosy pubs. Dogs welcome. Non smokers preferred. Steps up to flat on 3rd floor - no lift. Bath. No shower.
The apartment below me in the Granary is also on airbnb and this would mean that friends eg two couples could stay in the building at the same time.
I also have a small extra bedroom that can be used for one extra guest at a cost of £10 a night
Buses daily except Sunday and Bank Holiday. Mostly hourly.
Lesley's apartment below me in the Granary is also on airbnb and this would mean that friends eg two couples could stay in the building at the same time.
keep clean and tidy
This was our first experience of airbnb, and one we will want to repeat in the near future. Jane was very welcoming, and everything was better than we could have hoped for. Her flat is perfectly placed for exploring Teesdale and the surrounding area. Middleton itself has good pubs and restaurants, and there are lots of good walks in the area.Highly recommended.
We had a really lovely stay at the old Granary. We felt very much at home mainly due to Jane, our host's generosity to share her home with us. We had interesting conversations and got useful recommendations from Jane on 2 excellent walks. Jane's zest for life is contagious. The accommodation was very comfortable and well located. We were allowed to play from a wide variety of CDs and Dvds, very useful on one very rainy night.
Well that was good fun! Nice place, modern and airy. Comfy bed. Tons of books.
Jane was cheerful/friendly and very interesting to talk to but at the same time allows you plenty of space. Many thanks
Jane was very helpful and sent all details well in advance
The apartment was even better than what we were expecting and was comfortable and warm.
Helpful information was left out and extras such as cake &cereal were a nice touch.
We had an accident that broke a wine glass and spilt wine but this was taken in good grace
We loved being at Jane's. She was very welcoming and easy to be around. Her apartment is lovely with great views and an extremely comfortable bed. Jane also provided me with a lem sip as I had a cold. Also after a day's walking it was great to soak in the bath. ThanksJane.
Jane was brilliant, she was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Our stay was very short but the time we spent with Jane was very enjoyable she is a fun and busy lady! Jane is full of ideas of things to do locally, and had plenty of suggestions for our onward travel to York the next day. The flat is airy, spacious, comfortable and cosy all at the same time, and is beautifully decorated. Jane's apartment comes with high recommendations, we would love to return one day.
Jane and her flat were brilliant! I stayed here with a friend for one night whilst attending a conference in Barnard Castle. We were instantly made to feel welcome and settled in, and the two bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Jane was also excellent at replying to texts and emails about arrangements and transport and very laid-back about our plans changing, both before and during our visit - even offering to drive us back to Barnard Castle herself early on Saturday morning if we missed the bus! - which made our stay so much more enjoyable. She also made us tea and toast with lovely fresh bread in the morning. We could easily have spent the rest of the day chatting to her! All in all - a delight.
